Leaving for SSR and I have questions

Hi everyone,

We leave tomorrow for our 1st DVC trip. We aren't members. We are renting points, but I'm hoping my dh will decide he likes the nice big beds much better than the double beds we're used to getting at the values and moderates enough to join. Anyway..... I'm curious. I know the pools are supposed to be heated, but are they really heated enough to swim? We were at Coronado Springs this past Spring and the "heated" pools were freezing cold. Also, is there anywhere at SSR where we can get free wireless internet access?

Thanks in advance for your help.

My kids loved the pools, even though we were just there and on some days it was fairly cool outside.

I'm not aware of any places with free wireless at SSR. However, I do recall (but could be mistaken) that the Wyndham across the street (yes, I know it has changed its name but I forgot what that is, Lake Buena Vista something) has free wireless in the lobby. Someone could correct me if I'm wrong on that one.

Although it is just across the street, there is no cross walk to get there. I made the dash on the last trip because we rented a car for the first day for airport transportation and grocery shopping, and returned the car to the Alamo there.

We just returned last night and the pools seemed great to us. We were only at the main pool and it was definitely heated. The air was cool on some days, but the water was great.

As for wi-fi....I don't think they have it...and if they do it sure isn't free!

High speed internet at WDW is about $9.95 for a 24 hour period. There are a few hot spots, but you still have to pay.

We were at the Boardwalk in May and also went to Typhoon Lagoon. The water was not warm at either place!

Pools will be freezing at SSR as well, just not yet. Weather has been consistently warm and with the long hot summer the temperature of the pools will probably still be in the 80's. Mid December - March or April is the recent problem we've seen.

Have a great trip.
