As of today, out signature says we have 9 more days. However, we extended our trip to include 3 days at US and IOA before we check-in at FW. So, we are actually leaving on the 8th, staying over half-way and then arriving in Orlando on the 9th. Getting excited...
We know it will be hot and we can probably (hopefully) set our watches by the afternoon thundershowers. Our plans are to take advantage of our 2 weeks in Orlando and enjoy the parks in the early morning to early afternoon, come back and sit out the hottest parts of the days by the pools, and then return late afternoon until park closing each day with at least one entire day dedicated to staying at FW and exploring the campground and relaxing. We've made a table of the EMH for each day and plan to take advantage of the late closings as part of our strategy.
Just wondering if anyone else does this and if it's a solid strategy we can realistically stick to? We know it will be hard to stop what we are doing and walk out of the park but we don't want to get too hot, too tired, too cranky, too sunburned, etc. and ruin the rest of our trip. My fear is that, after a couple of days of doing this, we'll start to realize how much of a pain it is to go all the way out of the park, get to our truck, and get back to FW only to turn around and go back again - and we'll start staying put and end up overdoing it. Especially since we made an executive decision to leave our little dog at home with the "grandparents". So, we really won't have a pressing need to come back to the campground.
