My family of 4 (son is 12, diughter is 13) are leaving on Thursday for 8 days. It's the first time we stay at BWV (our home resort) since we purchased in 1998.

12 other family members are joining us so we got two 2-bedroom units. One is a Boardwalk view and the other is Prefered (waitlisted for Boardwalk view)

Any advice on which Boardwalk view rooms are best?

Also, any tidbits of advice? Things that you always do to make things more enjoyable.

Any advice at all would be appreciated.

Thanks!!

First time home and you bought in 98 why ? :confused3 My only advice is to just have fun enjoy your family, as to the view the boardwalk view is alot of fun just sitting out and watching the action. You may also be able to see the fireworks in Epoct at night from your room

We bought at the end ofour trip to All-Star in '98. We then went back in '01 but couldn't get what we wanted at BWV so we stayed at OKW.

We've used our points at some places outside of Disney since then.

We're really excited about this trip!!

Thanks for the advice.

:cool1: Well have fun, I have to wait till nov to go ,we will also be taking some friends love to share disney with friends :cool1:

We don't own at BWV but it is our favorite resort.

Advice:
1 BWV has long hallways. Just try to stay away from the rooms the farthest from the lobby. Most of them are great.

2 Try to go from ESPN club

3 You can play chess and checkers in the bar just as you walk into the BW inn side of the resort

4 Walk to Epcot nightly for the fireworks. Go in its way better than than the bridge.

5 Don't rent boats there. Go to VWL

The Bw area is great. We love to stoll up and down the Bw after coming back from the parks. It helps to unwind before going back to the room. Have a great time. :Pinkbounc

I Love BWV! And I am one of those that doesn't mind a room at the end of the long hallway. It's quiet as can be, very little "traffic" outside your door. It CAN be a long walk from the lobby, but it's closer to the Bus stop and closer to the path to MGM on that site of the resort. So it all works out if you ask me--although to get to the bus or MGM path you will have to walk up/down steps for the "shortcut" as there is only one central elevator bank.

For the 12 and 13 year old I recommend the great FREE video games as well as free access to fusball, air hockey and ping pong at Community Hall. There are DVD's and VHS tapes for loan (again no charge) to use in your DVD/VCR players in the room there also.

Evening strolls on the Boardwalk are great, there's usually entertainment that's a lot of fun (ie jugglers, magicians, piano player on a bike)

Jellyrolls piano bar is right there on the BW (21 and older only), very enjoyable

Renting a surrey bike (for 2 or 4) is lotsa fun

You can see the Epcot fireworks from some rooms, but if you don't get that view simply walk to the bridge that's right next to the ESPN club for a great view. (or as another poster already said, walk another 3-4 minutes to Epcot and you will be even closer.

The pool and slide are phenomenal. Nice poolside bar too.

You'll love the convenience of being able to walk to Epcot or MGM, but if you don't feel like walking there's a boat that will take you to either. (bus to MK or AK, DD or the water parks). Unless it's really hot or people in your group dislike walking it's almost always faster to walk. BTW, if you just missed the boat walk over to the Dolphin/Swan loading dock. The boat will stop at BCV and then Dolphin/Swan and you'll get there in plenty of time. In fact I usually am impatient and get off the boat there when returning, it's faster and a 2 minute walk.

Walk across the bridge towards the dolphin and keep on going until you get to Fantasia Gardens--really nice mini golf course.

I'm sure I;ll think of more later, but that's all that comes to mind now. Have a magical trip!! :wizard: :cheer2: :flower: :disrocks:

Huh! I was about to say the exact opposite. The further from the elevator, the better the panoramic view in my opinion! We had the best over-the-EPSN-club view of Illuminations from being way down over the Crest O the Wave part.

Hello: If your planning on eating in any of the sit-down rest., have you purchased the Disney Dining Experience Card? It will save you a ton of money with that large of group.

True, but you have to be an AP holder or FL resident to become a member of the DDE. So hopefully the OP has an AP or lives in FL, otherwise this is not an option. Here's a link for some info: http://www.mousesavers.com/diningexperience.html

You know I really don't understand why everyone has such a big problem with BWV's "long hallways"??? If you wanted to get from let say building 36 in OKW to Olivia's, how long a walk is that? If you were at VWL and wanted to get something to eat how long a walk is it to the main building?

Agree that the further down the hall the better the BW View -especially Spaceship Earth, plus there is a stairway on the far end that goes out to the swan bridge if you come back from MGM on a boat-get off there and walk over and up the stairs.

I too would suggest that you get the Disney Dining card for your group. Although it wouldn't arrive until after your trip, they send an email that authorizes your membership. Also, remember to ask for the guide to where the card is good, to be sent via email. I printed these both for my upcoming trip. Will be at BWV also with DH and DS (age 15) arriving 2/20 in a 1 BR standard view. Like previous posters have mentioned, you get a discount on the dining pass if you have 1 AP in your group. They will send you 2 cards, they told me, both with my name on them, one for me and one for someone else in the household. This will come in handy for my daughter (same address - but away in college) for her March break trip. She can use the card. Also, it said on the letter they emailed that it was good til March of '06. Hoping it says the same on my actual membership card. See you there! Nancy from MA

I am heading down there on Feb. 27 for 4 nights. It's the first visit after becoming DVCer. I am so excited.

But I am wondering if it would be too cold to let 2 years old swim. What other activities would be fun with 2 years old boy (other than going to parks).

Sweatshirts can be expensive, and hard to find at Disney, and can get cold at night.

Bring hat and gloves, and fluffy blanket for the stroller for little ones.

Bring old swimsuits for the hottub (not good ones, cause will fade).

Hope this helps, Goldi

We are not FL residents nor do we have an AP so I gues the DDE card is not an option.

Thanks for all the other suggestions.

Hey Sagwanamu,

We (M&D, Sister, bil, neice(8) nephew(4) and me) are also arriving BWV on Feb 27 and we are counting on some 'swimming' weather while we are there. weather.com says ave hi in Feb =73, Mar = 78. Since it is late Feb/early Mar we're looking at ~75. Add some sunshine and it will be perfect for an afternoon swim. Hopefully we will be close to the averages. Never know about the weather though....

See you there!.....Mark
