Well, we'll be finishing up our packing today. Starting to feel antsy about our trip! It seems like I've been waiting forever (since last December), and now it's finally here. We're going to have so much fun!

Will be posting tons of photos and a review when we get back. Thanks to everyone for their tips, photos, reviews, etc. The DISboards are so great!

Have a great time. We stayed at the AKL exactly one year ago tomorrow. We loved the resort and its staff. :)

we have just returned and the AKL was a definite hit with the entire family. have a great trip

I'll be there in less than two weeks. Have a great trip. Say hello to the animals for me and let them know I'll be their soon.

Have fun! We will be checking in at AKL the day you leave! :)

Have fun!!! I can't wait to get there, but it's two more weeks for me!! :( But I will have fun once I get there!!!  :cheer2: :cheer2: :cool1: :cool1:

I'm so jealous!! 24 more days for us. AKL is our very favorite WDW resort. Have fun!

I don't want to highjack a thread here, but everyone seems to be an experienced AKL lover and I had a question. The 2 nites before an extended family stay, my 18yo DS & I are hoping to stay @ AKL. How disappointed would we be if we picked a "standard view" room versus a Savannah view? Thanks, hope the OP has a great vacation!

I have never stayed in a standard view, but the pool view (for just a little bit more) was lovely, and the savannah view just wonderful. I especially love it at night because it's just surreal to be able to watch sleeping animals outside your balcony under the moon. You just can't believe it's real. I love it. But the whole place is great, so I think if I were to go with the standard view I'd still be able to see the animals from plenty of great viewing areas. I think you'll have fun either way, but the savannah view is something special, for sure. The pool view might be a good in-between option--since I hear the standard views truly are not that great (a high walled balcony that overlooks the parking lot or bus stop area).
