I know a lot of people leave there diaper bags with the strollers all the time and they are safe there but has anyone had any problems with leaving them? We are heading up tomorrow and this is our first trip with a baby and I had planned on leaving the bag with the stroller. Off course nothing really of value will be in the bag, just the typical diaper, wipes, snacks, formula and etc.

We have left our Vera Bradley bag several times with no problems.

If someone wants it bad enough, they'll take it, but for the most part, you can feel safe leaving at diaper bag behind.

Just make sure to mark your stroller with a scarf or ribbons so you can find it easily.

I have left diaper bag , Pin bags and sad to say it camera bag and we have never had a problem . First year it kind of freaked my Dh out but we have always had good luck !

Theft can happen. Though it seems to be pretty rare, it can happen.

My way of thinking is don't leave anything that can not be replaced easily.

I once had a diaper bag stolen in a restaurant (not in WDW)!

What we have done is carry a park bag (stuff like cameras, wallets, etc.) and take that with us on everything. (It is a sling bag.) Then I pack a ziploc bag with diapers, wipes, and a changing pad. I throw that into the basket under the stroller and leave it there. It's never been stolen and it's really easy to just use that to change a diaper than look through a diaper bag.

We left are diaper bag with the stroller on both our trips to WDW. Actually we leave it in the stroller most places, zoo, aquarium, etc. I always figure if someone really needs to steal kid snacks, diapers, and small toys, they must need it more then me. But I would never leave money or valuables. Just in case.

Have always left mine. Never any problems. As the others have said if they want it that bad they can have it. I keep all my impotant things on me in a back pack. I have to say though I have left my bags with things I have bought before and they have never been touched. Not that I recommend anyone to do this but I have done it time to time and not even realized I had.

I haven't brought a child that needed a diaper bag.

I do leave a change of clothes in a ziplock bag in the bottom of the stroller. If someone takes it, it's not the end of the world. If they dressed their child in it however I would know as the clothes were all sewn by myself.

We have taken several trips to Disney and we always leave stuff in the stroller. My stroller has comparents on top and there is always stuff in there, not to mention a bag I usually leave in the stroller seats. Of course we take anything valuable like our camera and $$ with us on the rides. We have never had a problem but there are dishonest people everywhere so yeah it is a possibility that I may return and something will be taken! It's the chance you take! Have a great trip!

We left one of those mister fans in our stroller last June in Animal Kingdom and someone swiped it. I had it wrapped around the handle and didn't want to bring it into the Lion King show, so we left it on the stroller. When we came back, it was gone. It wasn't the end of the world, but I was annoyed. We had literally just bought it for my son and he was very upset (granted he is also a very dramatic child, but it caused a scene). Sadly, when I mentioned it to a CM at Lost and Found (hoping maybe it fell and someone turned it in, but it was wrapped pretty tight, so that is doubtful), she said you can't leave anything unattended that you don't want stolen ... she claimed theft is fairly common.

On the other hand, DH left my purse on the ground during the fireworks at Magic Kingdom on the same trip and someone turned it into Lost and Found that night. If I had to choose, I'm glad we lost the fan and not the purse :)

I take a bag that I received from a trade show as my diaper bag. I then put a few diapers, wipes and a changing pad into a zip lock in it. That way I can grab the ziplock when heading into a restaurant or bathroom and I leave the bag on the stroller.
I did have someone steal my rain cover from my stroller while it was parked at the entrance of O'Hana. It was during Hurricane Ike in '08 and was pouring buckets. However the entire trip we never got rained on because the kids were either napping in the room or we were eating dinner while it rained. So while I was very annoyed that someone stole something out of my stroller - it was the best insurance policy I ever bought! ;)

This exactly. We have a Princess backpack that we leave on the back of our stroller when we go to rides/shows and have never had a problem. My theory is that if someone wants it badly enough, they can have the diapers, wipes and extra set of clothes - we would be annoyed, but it wouldn't break our vacation.

We have always left our stroller packed with waters, snacks, bag with extra clothes...etc...and have NEVER had a problem!! I am sure there is theft but my thoughts echo someone else...if they need my snacks, etc that bad...then they need it more than me. AND...who in the world can pay the WDW prices and NEED to steal my stuff!

I dont agree with this at all. I wouldnt want to be in WDW and have my snack cups, toddlers toys, etc taken. It would just be a hassle to have to purchase new ones...and unnecessary. I had a shower curtain taken off my stroller one year when it was calling for rain...and was so disgusted as we had no rental car to go get another one to replace it...and we shouldnt have to do that. I dont go with the mentality of someone else must need it worse than me----NO, I NEED it, thats why I brought it!
I just leave a few diapers and wipes (in a baggie) inside of a gallon ziploc under the bottom of the stroller. I would replinish it every evening or at breaks at the hotel during the day. That way people could see it is just diapers. If there was a bag there, people wouldnt know if there is something valuable in it or not, and could take the bag ditching it later if nothing is in it. I put sippy cup, snacks in the netting pocket on the back of the stroller. We carry a sling bag with all of our tickets and money with us at all times.

I read (I think on these boards) that they leave a fake dirty diaper on top of everything and have never had a problem!:rotfl:

I generally leave a bag in the bottom of the stroller when I go on rides. I also put things in it that wouldn't break my vacation if they were lost (second change of clothes, extra diapers and wipes, ponchos, the stroller rain cover).

I always make sure I have some diapers, one change of clothes and DS toys with me, but if someone steals the back-ups, I wouldn't be happy but it wouldn't be the end of the world.

I have weighed my options, and I'd rather carry a smaller bag on rides and risk losing some extra items, than be burdened with carrying a huge bag on and off rides.

I also do lock my stroller, and I will put the handle from the bag I leave behind through the lock. That way someone can't swipe the entire bag, but it wouldn't stop them from opening it and taking out what is inside.

I would always take our diaper bag whenever went left the stroller but that's because it always had our camera and other things that we would not want to be stollen

our last trip I started carrying it with us but my back started to kill. So what we did for the rest of the trip was to use a cheap quick change diaper kit that holds a few diapers, wipes and a changing pad) that stayed in the stroller. or (you could just put some diaper and wipes and a few throw away changing pads in a zip lock baggie) if it got stolen its fine. We then carried a tiny backpack that had sunscreen, camera and a change of clothes and autograph books) we took that one rides...it was small enough not to be a bother...

You would have to be a real piece of work to steal something while you're at Disney World. :sad2: (I think stealing in general is wrong...but at Disney it seems a lot worse!! :rotfl:)

We take our valuables and leave the other stuff on the stroller. We haven't had anything stolen yet.
