I am taking a 7 night Western in October and we were thinking of leaving the day before as I have a 2 year old and it will be easier. We are using the Cruise buses from MCO to the port, it's part of our package. But I was wondering if it was worth maybe staying at a hotel near Downtown Disney the night before, to have things to do and great places to eat. Any ideas?

Thanks!

That is exactly what we are doing. We have a 3.5 year old (or she will be when we cruise). We are flying a redeye, arriving the day before the cruise in the morning. I think we are going to stay at Pop Century, it costs the same as Port Canaveral hotels. Then we figure we can just explore the hotel, or take the disney bus down to Downtown Disney and explore. We will be there in Dec, so figured it might be fun to look at the holiday decorations. This will of course all depend upon how DD flys!! But I figured after an afternoon nap we can head to Downtown Disney, and get dinner there, etc.

We are flying in and then going over to the Cape. Its just a more relaxing way to start a cruise IMO. You get on board relaxed and refreshed not as stressed from flying.
Also since we are booking our own air if there was a problem we would have enough time to be okay.
