Leaving community board and not looking back!

I am so sick of all the political crap, the personal bashing and negativity that I am leaving the community board and coming back to my first loves of the DIS - the cooking/scrapbooking board and the cruise board! I should have known better than to venture out. So if you'll have me back - I'm ready for scrapping! I have finally finished my '03 Cruise book so maybe I'll post some pictures later. My poor son's second year has fallen so far behind - I'm just now finishing his 1st birthday party and he'll be 2 next month. Oh well - at least I didn't give up (yet)!

So it's good to see some familiar (and FRIENDLY) names here. Will check in often!

I feel your pain Keelyb! I did the same thing. I'm not a scrapper, but I am a cooker (and eater ) so I thought I would come over here for a while. It's like a breath of fresh air!

Welcome back! I tried the CB for a bit, but I guess I'm just not a City girl. Things just move a little too fast over there! Enjoy th peaceful life here!

Most of the time this is the only place I come on the boards. We don't have a cruise planned any time soon and browsing the cruise boards just makes me miss the Magic.

I go to both here and the CB, but with all the political views, and with some members saying things that are hurtful, I understand what you mean.
This morning, I offered someone some advice which I thought was very useful and what she was asking for, but she mentioned that she liked the *SMART* answer better.

For a bit I was thinking I was too sensitive... Glad I am not the only one who is kinda weary of being over there (CB). I originally joined for the cruise thread, then found my way here. Think I'm going to stay a bit... I sure like food and crafting more than all that political "crud" over there.

Your definately among friends here as I have fallen desperately behind with my son's scrap books too. I finished up to his 1st birthday too, but he is now 2 1/2 - that's a lot of events between then and now.

Oh, well, I just keep trying to get some stuff done.

I too am in complete exhaustion from the CB - I have been hanging on the cruise board because that just is awesome to dream about - and we have one planned - far, far away, though t may be.

I even gave up my thread I posted to every day because I don't like hanging around there anymore.

Even though I don't scrap (I finally got an album & pages, but have done NOTHING with them for 6 months ) I love this board! I'm happy to "see" new faces here.

Kellyb....I too have noticed how adversarial people are over on the community board. There was one guy who was out and out rude and even sent me PMS bashing the Yankees and all New Yorkers. Kinda scared me a bit. Since July I haven't really connected with anyone...I just kind of float from there to the DVC boards and here.....hoping to make some friends sooner or later.

I'm not Thegottis but the animations come from Smiley Central. You can go here and download them. There are tons of them and new ones every day.

They're loads of fun to use.

Actually I have been lurking around here for a couple of months. Usually post to the threads dealing with crock pot recipes.

Didn't mean to step on your toes but I just couldn't resist talking about Smiley Central. They have so many of them that I downloaded it about 6 or so months ago and I still haven't seen every one they have. These are one of the most clever smilies I've ever seen and seem to fit any occasion you could ever dream of. I always have loads of fun with them.

Not to steal the thread, but I've heard that Smiley Central has a lot of sypware on it, so I'm afraid to download it. My puter has enough problems. Have you all found this to be the case?
