Leaving car after going to Chef Mickey's

I am sorry if this has been asked before, but we plan on going to Chef Mickey's for breakfast. After breakfast, we would like to take the monorail to one of the parks. Can we leave the car in the hotel parking lot while we are at the park?

YOu are not suppose to use monorail resort's parking for an all day trip to the parks.

They will issue you a 3 hour pass for the meal/shopping.

If everyone did this then there would be no parking for the guests of the resort. This happened to us when we stayed at the Contemporary; a few time where we couldn't find a parking space.

One night we saw people parking and then walk over to MVMCP with their Mickey Santa hats on. And we were still driving around looking for a spot.

I believe that you can only do this if you are staying in another resort on site. Off site guest will be given a 3 hour parking pass and then will have to move the car. Someone correct me if I am wrong.

Nope, all guests will be issued the 3 hour pass at a monorail resort and Boardwalk to have their meal and shop...to avoid those that park there all day to go to the nearby park. It's not just off site guests.

when we were there last september, we did chef mickey's. we were staying at the ASMu...when we got to the security guy, he issued us a 3 hour parking pass. so after our meal, we just took the car over to the MK parking lot since we got free parking there...

the only time i have ever used a resort parking lot when i was going to a park was at the yacht club. we were eating dinner in the world showcase in epcot, but meeting an illuminations cruise at the yacht club afterwards. had the parking lot been really full, i wouldn't have parked there. but we parked in a pretty empty lot and it was still pretty empty when we came out after our cruise. realistically, we probably only parked there for about 3 hours anyway...and that would have been the amount of time on a parking pass...

No! please don't do this. When we stayed at CR last week, DH spent time driving around the lot trying to get a spot one night. He finally dropped the kids and I off so he could continue his quest. This was the only time we had a problem, but there were not many spots available the other times either.
When we ate at Chef Mickeys 2 years ago and were staying at PO, we parked at MK(free) and they allowed us to monorail to CR(let us through as our name was on clipboard). Then we simply walked to MK after our breakfast.

go to chef mickey's, but valet park. you will have no problem going to the parks then. If anyone complains, you paid to park.

That won't work either, they'll only let you park a couple hours with the valet - at least they did for us when we did Ohana's breakfast at the Poly a year ago.

The CR and the Poly have huge problems with this and have really cracked down.

I would park at TTC and take the resort monorail to the CR, then take the monorail to the parks.

Perhaps we were just unlucky....although we didn't intend to stay the day anyway, we were heading over to AK.

I honestly didn't mean that I wanted to do this as "something I'm not supposed to do".....I only asked for "planning" purposes.

I have never been to the Contemporary or Chef Mickeys. I thought they may have a section of parking for Contemporary resort guests only, and parking for people who are going to Chef Mickeys and then possibly a park afterwards.

I would park at TTC and take the resort monorail to the CR, then take the monorail to the parks

We always stay at the Contemporary and have noticed that if I get up very early (5 am) and head out - when all guests staying there should be parked there - there are LOADS of parking spots - as soon as MK opens - Bang - no spots to be found!

It is pretty cool too if your ps is before MK opening. We got to bypass the mobs of people waiting for the MK monorail to open. Just told CM our name and we got on the resort monorail . We were whisked off while others just stood and waited behind the turnstiles ! We had a 7:50ps and were still at MK about 9.

It would be nice if CR had more parking, we did not anticipate the problem parking that one night. This also happened when we stayed at WL too .

First I've heard of any time limits being put on Valet Parking--.

i've never had a time limit on valet. we'll see in 4 days!

In that case, we just got "lucky". We parked at the Poly for the Ohana's character breakfast with the valet because we were running late and were told "you can't leave your car here for the day - three hours."

Disney consistancy strikes again. (We only had the car because we were playing golf later in the day and were lugging clubs around - normally I never drive at Disney, with the exception of golf).

To my knowledge there is no time limit on valet parking. They have no idea what you are going to be doing. We valet when we have dinner at Chef Mickey's and breakfast at 1900 Park Fare. Sometimes after our meals we do not go to the parks but tour the other monorail resorts and that can take time. Unless something has changed since Feb 2004 there is no time limit on valet parking.
