We leave in 7 days and I'll be packing our suitcases this weekend. Just wondering how many outfits do you normally bring for the kids. We're staying in a 1 bedroom at VWL (first time) so we'll have a washer and dryer. I was thinking for DS7 & DD4 - 5 shorts and 7 shirts each, for DD2 probably a couple more shorts & shirts then DS7 & DD4 - shes a typical 2 yr old....messy! The girls will have a couple dresses as well. Do you think that is too much for the kids? I'll also pack one pair capris/light pants, sweatshirt for a/c, lots of socks and undies.

I really don't want to overpack which I have a tendency to do. Thanks for any thoughts.

Telling you this will insure it's hotter than blazes the whole time you're there, BUT I'd take at least 2 pair of capris or long pants each. Even lightweight knit warmup pants would keep them happy if it got cool and give you a chance to wash one pair while they were wearing the other.

Thanks for the reply! Its been in the high 80's but w/air conditioning and cool evenings I'm sure a lightweight pair of pants would be appreciated. Thanks again.

I would definitely take a pair of lightweigt pants and a jacket. The nights tend to cool off rather quickly. If it rains, it is nice to have something to put on - most shows tend to crank up the A/C or at least it feels like it when your wet.

We usually take two outfits per day, especially when it's hot. When we come back for rest/naps in the afternoon we shower and change for the evening. Lots of clothes I know, but if you have a washer/dryer in your villa then you wouldn't need to bring as much. Maybe like two shirts to one pair of pants, then you can wash the pants in between wearings. I would bring two bathing suits. One to wear while the other is washing. If you want to pack light, then just 4 pairs of undies and then you can wash. Same with socks.

Again, I wouldn't pack nearly as much if I had a washer/dryer in the room. I'm not going to a laundry mat while I'm on vacation!

Have fun!!

Take an outfit per day. I usually take an extra 2 and then some for when I know we will go back to the hotel before dinner. I prefer them to look decent in restaurants if at all possible. It's one of my little quirks:lmao:. I also take extra undies and socks, you never know when you might need to change those;) . I pack a lightweight jacket or a cardigan and usually a pair of jean and or capris. I don't want to do laundry :laundy: though it just ruins the "I'm on vacation" thing :rotfl2: . If you are cool doing the laundry thing then you can get away with a lot less.

Thanks for all the replies. I don't mind doing laundry especially when the w/d are in my room. I wouldn't like it to much if I had to use the laundry room by the pools only because with our kids so young we need both DH and I in the pool w/the kids. I wouldn't leave them to go check the laundry at such young ages.

I'll just put in a wash at night and dry it in the morning when we get up. And it'll be great to get home w/clean clothes not piles and piles of laundry.
