This is a little off topic, but I am sure someone here can answer my question.
DH has decided he may want to go to Universal for a day so I looked and could not really find much my kids would do or be able to do, so I thought of going to Sea World instead, then just thought of going to a Disney water park, we have not done that before.

What would you suggest?

Universal Just one park (which one)
Sea World
Disney Water Park

We are using Magical Express to get us to the hotel, CSR, and are not taking the boys booster seats, they are 7 and 5 so they must have them if in a car. How would we get to an off site location?

Thanks in advance
Dawn

Our kids are12 and 15. They have been to all of these places and would for sure pick the water park. You would not have to worry about how to get there. Typhoon lagoon I would say would be better for younger kids. Have a great time.:cheer2:

Hi Dawn. At their ages I would probably do the Disney water park. Both Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach have areas just for the younger ones. Or take the bus to Downtown Disney, play at the Lego shop and have lunch at McDonald's (my boys are 7 & 9 now and still love the Lego shop!). Have a great trip!

I would also vote for the water park. My family and I didn't care for Sea World very much since it was mostly shows and you had to pretty much follow a tight schedule all day in order to see everything. Universal was fun, but I ended up sitting many things out because DD was too small to go on a big percentage of the rides.

We LOVED Typhoon Lagoon, however, and we're often disappointed because we usually go in January and it's closed for re-furb and/or too cold to swim. Looking forward to going there this Sunday though! :teeth:

Enjoy your trip!

Water park is a great choice. But if you can rent a car for a day, Islands of Adventure is fun for kids that age -- my DGS was 6 both times we went, and he loved it, except for the JP River Adventure (we all hated the drop at the end). You can request child safety seats when you rent a car. There may also be non-Disney bus options.

At IOA DGS spends a long time at Dino Discovery Center, and the dino play area (also the one at AK); the Spiderman ride is excellent. Seuss Landing is fun. There are several places at IOA where you might/will get wet (so plan for that if you go). Check out info in the Universal forum.

Typhoon Lagoon is a great place to spend a day (so is BB).

I think a trip to Universal is a great idea - we love the Universal parks. I think so many people are hesitant to do anything non-Disney and a lot of great things that Orlando has to offer go unexperienced, including Universal, SeaWorld and many other smaller attractions.

If you had to only pick one Universal Orlando park, I'd go to Universal Studios. They have far more to offer your kids' age group than Islands of Adventure, which is more high-test thrill rides that either might not appeal to them or which they might not be able to ride due to size constaints.

As far as getting there, perhaps a cab or car service is probably your best option for minimal muss & fuss as they'll take you door to door. I'm sure there are many other options though; check the Transportation forum on this board & I'm sure you'll find many experts eager to assist you :)

One of these would be my pick... :thumbsup2
