Leave bags with bell services overnight

Does anyone know if bell services will hold bags overnight?

I just called to check on one of our waitlists. We've currently got a double-split stay that I'm trying to work down to just one move.

We're at AKL for the first 6 nights, then move to BLT for 5 nights, then have to move back to AKL for the last 3 nights. I'm hoping to change the last 3 nights to stay at BLT, and have those dates waitlisted.

I just called. The last 2 nights are available, but not the 1st. I'm debating snagging them, but then might be put in the position of having to move 3 times on the same trip if that one day doesn't come through.

If we did have to leave BLT for 1 night, then return, would they allow us to leave bags with bell services overnight? I wouldn't need my owner's locker and all the bags transferred. We could probably get by with a small carried bag for that night. It seems silly to have bell services transfer all our bags to AKL, only to have them transferred back to BLT the next morning.

Anyone ever done this?

Yes, Bell Services will usually have no issue with storing luggage overnight like this.

Hope your waitlists come thru though - that many moves doesn't sound like fun!

Good luck! :)

When we flew down, we had DD4 in a car seat on the plane, but we were not renting a car. Since we were in a value studio at AKV, I had bell services hold our carseat for us for our entire length of stay. It was absolutely no problem:thumbsup2.

Have a great trip!

While I'm sure you are correct Doc, I am surprised that Disney will do this.
Not because it's too much of a bother, but rather the whole "unattended bag" security thing. Sort of like the airlines rule where they will not let you knowingly travel without your bags.
Perhaps they can look a day ahead at the guest arrivals..

We've had HHI store a mountain bike when not in use for the whole stay. If they have the room they seem to be most willing to accommodate.

We were able to store some of our luggage with bell services while we were on our 4 night cruise last Nov. We were at AKV the week before the cruise and then THV after the cruise for a few nights.

We were thinking about leaving our luggage at BCV until 1am the night of the MNSSHP...do you know if the luggage room will be open to retrieve them this late at night...we are off to that 'other' park to go visit Harry Potter and already have paid reservation for the night of the party (unfortunately Disney changed it's days for the party...from what we expected)...

Your bags are just as "unattended" all day long as they are at night. And airlines don't ask the "out of your control" question anymore.

OP, I travel a lot for work and have found most hotels in general to be very helpful in this regard. I've stayed in a few frequently that not only let me store things over night, they let me leave a box of my stuff (both clothes and work supplies) with them in between trips. Disney is no different in this regard - I've stored things overnight at there as well (involve a split stay and moving).

That's not quite what I mean about "knowingly traveling without your bags" with the airlines.. Last week at the gate I tried to get on an earlier flight, and because I checked bags for the later flight, I was not allowed to switch. In other words, you have to believe you are on the same plane as your bags.

I was thinking of the same principal with the hotel. To have your bags at the hotel overnight when you are not there (not at risk), might be disallowed.
Apparently that's not the case, and quite frankly I hope it's never called for.

I forgot to post my main point...
If you leave your bags on the day you are checking in, you can show there is a valid reason for doing so. If you leave them a day ahead of time, and bell services doesn't check the next days registration they wouldn't be certain you are checking in the following day. IMO, that would be some cause for suspicion.
It's a shame that's the way it is, but that's what we need to be looking for these days...

I wasn't referring to your comment about traveling without your bags. I was referring to what you said about unattended baggage.

Nope, definitely not the case. Maybe there are some hotels that won't do this, but I haven't come across one. It's not like they would even know who was leaving something overnight if you didn't tell them - they don't monitor how long bags have been there unless they've been around for a long time, and if someone left a bag overnight, what would the do with it? Call the owner if there was a phone number on the tag? Put the bag out on the curb? I've never seen a bell services staff with enough time to monitor such things. :)

As I was posting, I completely forgot that I currently have a printer, 2 reams of paper and extra ink stored at bell services at hotel in Newcastle, UK. I won't say which one cause I don't want anyone going and claiming my printer. ;) I'll be there to use it in 2 weeks!

Yes, you will be able to get the bags at that hour.

I used some paper and you need a new ink.:rotfl2:

I have a question about a resort accepting luggage early....
I am staying for a week at BCV, but with great airfare we booked a day early. We were able to get a room at BWV...instead of delivering our luggage to BWV the transferring it over yo BCV the next morning.... How would I get it to just go to the BCV? I thought if I received ME tags for the original week stay it would go to BCV. Then before we left I called MS to book the day before...I am thinking this is more headaches than it is worth.
Any ideas?
