Can anyone explain this to me? I only saw a quick blurb on the disney site (just that it is in Epcot) and the search function here just keeps giving me an error message.

What is it exactly and how much does it cost, if anything?

Check out this website, it has some good info about "leave a legacy". DH and I are planning to do it on our next trip, for $40, I think it's definately worth it to have the memory forever! Hope the site helps answer your questions :goodvibes

We did Leave a Legacy in 2003, center shot

My DH and I had our picture taken for "Leave a Legacy" on Aug. 9 in celebration of our 20th wedding anniversary that day. The cost was $25 for the tile. As you enter Epcot, it's just to the right.

I thought it was 40 dollars to leave a legacy. With 2 images engraved. Why was it 25?? Is there some type of discount?

Awesome!!! That was exactly what I was looking for!!!

Thanks so much, we will definately be doing this in October! :thumbsup2

I think one tile is 25, and two are $40.00. IE if you want one with a picture and another with a text. I had a text made and it was $25.00.

DH and I left one in memory of his dad...they wouldn't let us put "in memory of"...so we just said "wish you were here"

I would post some photos of ours too, but with the new search function, can't find anything, LOL. :confused3

I think it is a neat thing to do, I always stop by and check our two tiles each visit. :cool1:

Based on research I've done tonight, the cost appears to have changed over time (one there were discounts for things like AP holders or AAA members that might not apply anymore). Additionally, I believe there was a price difference based on the number of images.

While I'm not sure of the current price, past prices indicated $35 for a single person in the image and $38 for two persons in the image (for space reasons, it's limited to two people per image).

And these things are NOT guarunteed to be there forever. The fine print you recieve indicates that Disney can move the display at any time, and that you're only guarunteeded that they will be displayed somewhere in Disney World for at least 20 years from the inception of the program (i.e. the year 2020).

Anyone with better upto date info. The official WDW web site on the subject just has a contact number and some quicktime movies on its history (sort of sounds like Disney is already starting to forget about it).

The response to Leave a Legacy has been somewhat dissapointing. Those bricks on the walkway around the Seven Seas Lagoon sold like hotcakes, but for some reason people have not warmed to the Leave a Legacy model, which is why the price has been reduced several times over the years, and there is still plenty of empty space on the obelisks.

I personally love the idea. I bought my LAL tile in 1999 at the full price (with a small Magic Kingdom Club discount), and I visit it on almost every trip.

I doubt that Disney will move LAL any time soon; it would cost a lot of money to move all of those obelisks, and there really isn't anyplace else on property where they would fit in, since they were specifically designed to mesh with the shape of Spaceship Earth.

In 2020 they will probably just raze the whole thing and design a new Epcot entranceway.

DD and I just had it done at the end of July. The CM told us it would be 6 to 8 weeks before it would be up. We still have not received anything.

I don't know the price because DH took care of that while DD and I were getting ready for our picture.

My brother and his future wife did this, it was perfect; until they broke up :confused3 . Oh well. I'm going to do this for my two little boys on our next trip.

The is one of the best ideas ever to do in Disney!! We did ours 2 yrs. ago. The cost was $25 a tile. You can only put 2 people on a tile. So, this is what we did:
My dh & dd, me & dd, name of vacation and date, FIL & MIL, SIL & BIL! Last yr., we got to see it for the 1st time and it was so cool. My SIL wore red gloves and put her hands around our pics so they would show up in the photo good. My 6yr dd can take her kids one day to WDW and show them the great memories we made @ WDW!! They will mail you a copy of the pic and a quote from Walt Disney and the location of your legacy. I love it!!!

Okay, I found the picture of my DB and his ex-fiance... they were so cute together. Many Disney trips were shared including this one...

Unless the price has gone up again since March of 2005, that website posted above is wrong. We got ours done in '05 and it cost $25 like the others said.

I remember that when it started it was MUCH more expensive. We were shocked at how cheap it was actually.

This coming trip (we leave in 5 days!!!!!!!!!) is the first time we'll actually get to see it in person!

We did LAL in May and we'll get to visit it this November. It was definitely $25 (we too were surprised at how cheap it was) and well worth it! We recieved our info about 6-8 weeks after we got home from our trip.
