My DH has a leather jacket that he LOVES, but it looks terrible. I thought about having it cleaned/reconditioned/fixed for him, but I dont think there is anywhere around rural KS that does that.

If anyone has any experience in having one done and can give me some insight on what it might cost, questions I should ask or if you know of somewhere that might do it I would be eternally grateful.

call a local drycleaner-most have places they send them out to worked on.

dh has a leather jacket that is close to 20 years old (and was not a high end expensive one when purchased). a few years ago dd wanted to start wearing it and so we offered to get it cleaned along with having the seams inside both pockets sewn. we were FLOORED to see that the jacket looked like new just from a cleaning (dh is really hard on jackets so we were amazed). I think the total cost was about $60.00.

just thought of something-if you've got no drycleaners near by-call the local high school and find out where students order their letterman jackets. the sleeves are made of leather and have to be sent to the same kind of companies, so a store that sells them should have the name of a company you could use.

Knowing your location, my first thought was either a shoe repair store or a saddlery store (they would know who does chaps repairs, etc...)

Good luck, a good leather jacket is well worth the save!
