Least Favorite Park?

The Park we spend the least amount of time in is MGM (I know, it's now DHS, but I've been calling it MGM since I first started going, it'll always be MGM to me)

It's a great Park, but for some reason, it just doesn't hold our attention for that long. I think it's the themeing. I don't enjoy just wandering around soaking in the theme there like I do the others. We are big wanderers around at this point in our lives. :rotfl: They have some great attractions, but the atmosphere just doesn't pull me in at all.

It's funny, as our family has grown up doing WDW, our tastes in Park have changed alot. Epcot remains the constant favorite tho. When DS was little, we spent alot more time at MK, now we only do a day, maybe a day & a half at MK. We spend the bulk of our time at Epcot & AK.

I couldn't choose a least favorite park. For me each park has it's ups & downs. If it is raining, I would prefer to be at MK. If it is hot, EPCOT. If it is early in the morning, AK. If the kids are tired & cranky, Studios.

I asked my teens which park they would consider their least favorite. My oldest DD 15 said, does Islands of Adventure count? No? She would choose, MK because she hates waiting in line. Younger DD also 15, says AK because it always seems 10 degrees hotter there & dinosaur ride is too scary. DS 13 likes AK best & hates countries at Epcot. Test track is his favorite ride. My dad, 65, LOVES AK & HATES MK, but if I plan to skip MK he won't allow it.

My least favorite would be MK, when over crowded. I would have to say my favorite is also MK. I will never forget my child's first boat ride to MK. The first sight of Cinderella's castle was amazing. Each trip has it's own magical moment. It is why we all keep going back & read these boards when we are home.

Hollywood Studios, hands down. I think there is a reason Disney put RR and TT in this park, and that is because if they didn't, nobody would even bother to go there.

That park needs a serious overhaul, I think. Parts of it make the adult-themed Epcot seem like a walk on the wild side. The boat trip in HS? Please, I fell asleep while the whole chase thing was played out -- I'm not even kidding.

And you guys know we go there WANTING to have fun, it's not like we are LOOKING to get bored, so when you put to sleep somebody who wants to have a great time, somebody who's genuinely just excited to be there, that's when you know you have a boring park.

If Disney put those rides in AK, HS could simply be shut down and nobody would know the difference.

Just my two cents.

I try to Hit AK in the am---then park hop over to DHS(usually on an EMH eve) . Best use of park hopping IMO. Not enough rides at either park to justify staying rope drop til they kick you out--Can you say Magic kingdom?

Another vote for the Studios. My family doesn't care if we never go there again. We do like the Muppets and we all think Fantasmic is the best show going, but that's about it. For some reason there's no "magic" there for us.
Also, the food there is the worst.

Animal Kingdom is starting to grow on us. I think there's a lot of great stuff there that we tend to skip over and we're looking forward to doing more there on our next trip. Part of the reason, I'm sure, is that they pump too much African heat into the park. ;) If they could find a way to cool it down a little, we'd spend more time there!

Edited to add: We haven't done TSM yet but we're doing morning EMH for the Studios on our next trip, so that may give the park a boost.

I also agree about DHS. We do a few rides in it and then leave. It's the only park I still get lost in for some reason. AK is also a 1/2 to 3/4 day park. But I love the trails there.

I love all the parks, or at least something about each park. That being said, I'd have to say my least fave is the Studios, even tho ToT is my favorite attraction in all of Disney. The whole layout just seems weird, its awkward to get around there.

For us I like the concept of least amount of time. We enjoy our time in all four parks.

Our least amount of time is AK. This used to be our second most park, but it just needs more rides. We can normally do a rope drop till around 4ish day. We like that because we can go to DTD later.

The cool thing about this thread is that it mirrors a conversation that myself and my wife had on the way home. We were talking about the parks. I said that DHS and AK are just a couple of attractions away from being very enjoyable parks. We enjoy them, just not like MK and EPCOT.

This thread also shows what is great about Disney. Something for everyone to love...and something to...well not enjoy.

I definitely say AK because I always feel like all I did all day was walk around trying to figure out where I was, what I've already seen, and what I still want to do. I'm not into the zoo thing; you can do that anywhere, so for me, AK is about some of the the attractions. there are some really good ones, but I just feel like Im walking in circles when Im there, and then before you know it, its five oclock and the park is closing and I feel like I missed half of what they had to do there.

My least favorite park is Hollywood Studios. There just isn't enough there that holds my interests for more than half a day.

Hollywood Studios... I'm just not interested in the majority of the attractions. Also, this park doesn't seem to hold crowds well.

DHS. For me there are only a few rides that I ride. There isnt much food to eat there that appeals to me. Its a half day park at best for me.

DHS I could totally skip only because we happen to have AP's we will still go there our Oct visit if nothing else to go to the Star Wars store to see if there a shirt there or something DD would like.

We like Fantasmic but not enough to wait forever for it.

Theres still a few things in DS that DH enjoys which I sleep thru. Great Movie ride being one of them but then I slept thru the big famous car stunt show thing too.

Least favorite: Disney Hollywood Studios

Most favorite: Animal Kingdom
