Least Favorite Menu Item?

Let's finish the superfecta, here!

What's your least favorite single item or entree on any menu at Walt Disney World? What were you looking forward to shoving down your pie hole, and once you finally did, you went "what the?" What's the one thing that when you hear people rant and rave about it, you think they've gone loko?

Make it a QS item, a TS item, whatever meal, snack, dessert, whatever. I don't want entire restaurants, just that one menu item that hinders an otherwise great place.

For me, it was the Chicken Masala Curry at Rose and Crown. I love Indian food, and I wanted to know what The UK did to it. The curry, itself was a bit bland (but I actually expected that), the rice was a little hard, but once I bit into that naan, I thought I was going to break a tooth! At that point, three strikes, and I couldn't eat it, anymore, and sent it back. I went and changed it to the bangers and mash, which was actually really good.

Why didn't I just order the fish and chips? Well, that's because two of my kids had ordered it, and i had a funny feeling one of them was going to not eat all the fish. I was right, and I stole a piece of fish off one of their plates. :D Plan B would've been to double back to Yorks Fish Shop, later in the day, and snag some there.

Tonga toast for me also. Just didn't live up to all the hype.

I didn't care for the chicken sandwich at HS abc commissary. Felt like I was eating a piece of rubber.

Tonga Toast. Was so excited about it... meh. On the flip side, I was convinced I wouldn't like a Dole Whip, and it took me a few years to give it a try... I was wrong!

My first Dole Whip. I went with the pineapple soft serve, not realizing it was artificially flavored pineapple. Blech. :crazy2:

My second Dole Whip, which we went all the way over to the Polynesian to get, I got vanilla soft serve. SOooooo good!:cutie:

Scallops at teppan edo. So gritty and sandy it was like chewing on literal sand paper. When I complained, they said "that's normal". Really? Uhhhh no. You're supposed to wash them before cooking.

Le Fou's Brew at Gaston's Tavern. It is truly disgusting :crazy2:. Not only does it taste terrible but I felt like I needed an insulin injection after only a sip or two . . . and I am not diabetic.

Agree, it's so disgusting. Like a mouthful of granulated sugar and karo syrup. I chugged a whole bottle of water after two drinks of it. Barf.

I'm so glad you shared that because I was really looking forward to checking that out on my trip. I will be skipping it.

Teppan Edo is one of the places I have had scallops and they tasted like they should, ha! So many places ruin them. Sorry you had them done poorly there :(

Me - Dole Whip. And, the meal I had at Wave. Chef Boyardee was better. Gag.

I agree with Le Fou's Brew. I couldn't drink it, which made me feel guilty for basically throwing away money. But it was better than chugging & seeing it again later. Also the fish at Rose & Crown, it was so bland, no salt or anything & it wasn't crispy. I don't know if it's suppose to be that way or not. When we fry fish it's seasoned well & crispy. So it was a bust for me. Also I didn't care for the lobster roll at BC room service. I had read so many rave reviews about the lobster rolls, I thought I'd order it thru room service. It had way too much mayo (or whatever the sauce they use), it overpowered the taste of the lobster.

Hmm, either the turkey sandwich at PoP! (soggy bread, flavorless mozzarella and turkey, mushy tomato) or the tie-dye cheesecake (no flavor and the top felt like jello when it gets a skin on it)?

The rosemary chicken flatbread at Mama Melrose's. Everything about it sounded delicious, but it was very underwhelming. It was seriously lacking in flavor.

Oh goodness, I am diabetic, so this is a bad bad thing. I'm hoping it's not frozen apple juice concentrate that wasn't reconstituted.

That's odd, I love a good fish and chips with a side of peas and a pint of Black and Tan. I thought the one at R&C wasn't bad. It wasn't the best, but it's definitely one of the better versions I've had.

The butter chicken at Sanaa. I like butter chicken, and I don't know if it was just an off night or the way they usually make it, but it was just blah and looked like something that had been sitting out on a buffet for hours. It doesn't help my opinion that the next day I came down with terrible food poisoning, and while I'm not sure it was the butter chicken, it's certainly one of the top suspects.

LeFrou's Brew. It is so sweet, I just wanted to brush my teeth afterward.

Puts on flame resistant suit: Mickey bars, I find them the commonest, plainest ice cream, like something you'd buy at the grocery store, and I really don't care for grocery store ice cream.

Agree on the Mickey Bars! They're just, as you said, so plain.

The worst meal I've had at WDW to date has been the grilled chicken salad from Pinocchio's Village Haus. The chicken was so overcooked it couldnt be cut with the little plastic knife, and the greens were warm and limo and sad-looking. We even tried it again, thinking the first time had maybe been a fluke, but it was the same thing as before.

Totally agree! I got one many years ago and do not understand the obsession. It's basically boring vanilla ice cream (almost chemical in how WHITE it is, even for vanilla) and not very good chocolate. Have never gotten one since, so many better options for yummy treats. My DH however gets one every day when we are there.

Do you have an extra flame resistant suit????? :scared:
