Looking for four consecutive days in August for a family trip that are the least crowded. I understand that least crowded is a relative term.

Currently considering M-TH Aug 14th-17th. I am also considering later in the month as school will almost start. We can do the last week in August. I doubt we can do the first week in September as DS 14 starts school...

Any thoughts appreciated. We have the entire month open form a schedule perspective....

Do remember that the later you get into August the more rides will be closed down for post-summer refurbishment & the shorter the operating hours will be.

Good point. I guess I am looking for a solid 4 days to attend. Would like to avoid ride closures...

We went the third week of Aug 2015. A lot of area schools were back in session, pretty sure all rides we up and running although we had to hit HM at the beginning of our trip before it went down for its overlay, and operating hours were long. The crowds were way better than what we experienced during our annual Oct trips. The one downside was the high temps, although that can happen anytime, we escaped peak temps with an afternoon hotel break.

I'd try to go while some of the AP's are BLOCKED.
Pick up a little battery fan at the dollar store for the heat while waiting in lines. For a buck they are handy to have.

Some APs are blocked: Aug 14th-17th

then later in August only the weekends are blocked.

Exact two weeks we were deciding between. We ended up with last week I August. It fit better in our schedule in terms of camp and our holidays but also hoping for smaller crowds. Only (big) downside is we'll miss Haunted Mansion.

I was looking at going August 12-17th because the 11-12 I'm going to universal with friends... I wanted to squeeze Disney in because I've never been able to ride haunted mansion or small world without the holiday overlays.

From what I've heard (from TX not local) August is usually pretty good crowd wise all month. It's still very hot and crowds slim the closer you are to back to school... But keep in mind Disneyland is always crowded anymore. Again as others have said you risk shorter hours & closures the closer you are to September the only guaranteed closure being Haunted Mansion for the holiday overlay, all others are usually listed under three months in advance.

If your family has been before I don't think it'll be a problem... As there will be less pressure to do everything. I think the dates you've got are the best.

We are also looking at Aug dates for a 4-day visit to the parks. Why are some AP's blocked Aug 14-17? We do not have DLR AP's (we usually head to WDW) so I am not sure what that means to have the AP's blocked.

Thanks!

We did the last week in August. HM was down for the overlay but everything else was running besides what is down for Star Wars Land construction.

I thought the crowds were very manageable, picked up later in the afternoons.

I was hot though, low to mid 90s, but same temps at home. I'd rather be sweating my butt of at Disneyland!

Disney decides when to block APs. With some APs blocked the crowds are anticipated to be larger however blocking APs brings it down a bit. The third week of August some of the weekdays are unblocked which might bring a surge of pass holders... However the long weekends are still blocked...
