Learning the ropes, Our first Adventure to DisneyWorld! Updated 6/3!

I absolutly love reading your trip report keep it up!:thumbsup2 I like seeing it from the point of view of someone who has never been:cool1:

Thanks! I'm glad you like it! :goodvibes We are going for our 2nd trip in Sept. and it's kinda a bummer that every thing won't be "the first"! I'm sure I'll get over it pretty fast though. (how can you be bummed in Disney?)

just found your tr today, i am really enjoying it and i agree akershus thumbs down not up my alley, and mission to mars no thanks- i felt like i was still spinning 2 hours later

looking forward to your next update

Her- MGM had EMH A.M. so we got up extremly early again after being out really late again!!! (This will finally catch up to us.) We grabbed a quick breakfast and then headed out to the studios.

Him- Chocolate doughnuts and frozen coke mmmm mmm good. I was on vacation so calories dont count right. This being our first trip to the studios we really didnt know what to expect. I guess I was thinking it would be similiar to California Adventures :confused3 but I was a little disapointed. It could be because I had about three hours of sleep, but I just couldnt get into the Disney groove.

Her- Me and DD went and rode RR while DH took the boy to TOT. Squirell was amazed that I knew all the words to the songs. She was just a little embarresed but it kept her mind off what we were about to do. After the intial shock of the ride she loved it.

Him- The boy and I went on Tower of Terror and he just about flipped his lid he had so much fun I thought he would laugh himself to death. The crazy thing is I liked it almost as much as he did. As soon as we got off the elevator he was begging to get back on. We had to go meet Mom and the squirell so I had to tell him we would all do it together next time. We found the girls as they came off their ride and then it was my turn on Rockin Roller Coaster. Squirell was telling me all about it and how she wasnt scared a bit and that mom was such a nerd for singing all the way through it. I think thats what she was saying I couldnt really hear her because I was singing.
She held on tight to me as the ride took off because she thought I might be a little scared because, I had never rode this ride and it was really dark and loud. I thought that it was a pretty good ride and she loved it so it was great.
We then went to look for Mom and the boy, that was a stinking mess. SHE wouldnt answer her cell phone, so for twenty minutes we were looking everywhere for them. Now I dont get to excited normally but the Squirell is a worry wart and it is contagious so I was pretty nervous when I called for the fortieth time. She finally answered and I felt releif flow through my body. She had been shop browsing and oopps didnt hear her phone. :furious:

Her-The boy and I, were on a mission. He was collecting as many smashed pennies as he could possibly find. So we went in search of all the closest penny smashing machines. Now, I did tell DH of this plan before we seperated. We were only about twenty feet from where they stood calling and calling and calling. I know its not that easy to spot someone in a big crowd, but come on.(It was really funny watching them fret and stew from the store.):lmao: J/K I really didnt hear my phone. We found three penny machines, and the boy was stoked.

Him- So am I supposed to hear everything she tells me? Anyhow we were all back together we head off to the Towers. The squirell dosent really like the Towers. She really dosent like the dark much and elevators used to weird her out when she was really little. We rode this in California the year before and she just bout flipped her lid (in a bad way). Something about nearly falling to her death scares her:confused3 She really didnt like Towers in MGM because by some happy chance this ride went on forever. Not kidding, I thought it was over at least three times and then up we go again.

Her- Because of "THE RULES" she knew she had to go on it at least once. She thought she knew what to expect because she had been on this ride before, but when we start moving through the ride in our elevator she starts panicking. I think that it dawns on her that this isn't going to be exactly the same. In fact this actually might be worse than the Towers in CA. She is getting her panties all in a bunch and we are all telling her it's fine, no big deal, we've done this before. Now the part is comming............you know what I'm talking about? The part where you hang there for just a few seconds "like maybe this will be the last thing you see in life.........THIS IS SO COOL OR I'M SOOOOOOOOOOOO SCARED I COULD PEE MY PANTS!" Yeah that part! So, after about the fifth drop she starts screaming "MAKE IT STOP!!! PLEASE MAKE IT STOP!!!!" :scared1: Clinging to our arms all the way up and then back down again. I'm telling her it's almost over just calm down. (Really I thought it was almost over) Then nope, up we go again. She is really giving me a look at this point. I tell her again this is the last one "I promise" (boy did I eat my words!) No kidding here folks we went up and then back down at least 3 or 4 more times after this. Now each time I was telling her it's almost over. She is now screaming "MAKE IT STOP! MAKE IT STOP! I DON'T BELIEVE YOU! MAKE IT STOP!" All the people in our elevator were laughing hysterical. Not only because we thought we had won the jackpot or something with the elevator that would never stop, but they were laughing at her. Not with her, but at her! Because believe me she was not laughing! Nope, she was T.I.C.K.E.D!.!.! The people were really sweet when the ride was over and tried to console her, but she was having none of that. I didn't think she would ever trust me again. Oh, and the boy, yeah he wasn't helping the situation.......at all.

the boy "that was the best ride ever!"

squirell "no it wasn't, it was the worst ride, and I am never going to ride that ride again, and people were laughing at me, and mom was telling me it was over then we would go up again, then ...................................................................................................................................................................!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

the boy " I think we should ride that ride 5 times in a row!"

squirell "I am never riding that ride ever again, it was terrible, people laughed at me, and......................................"

Me "o.k. son, that is enough!" (you know in the voice that gets their attention)

Me "Squirell, you didn't die. I promise, you are still here with us. You don't have to ride it again unless you don't stop with the attitude. I know you didn't like it, but others thought it was alot of fun so LET IT GO o.k. That's enough!"

Him- I have to admit that was the best ride ever. I was a little concerened for the squirell but shes young and will get over it, or not get over it and hate us forever. One of the two.:rotfl: So after all the drama we went and walked to cool off a bit. On our walk we saw Star Tours so we knew that this was an easy fun ride. We knew but the Squirel wasnt so sure. On our walk through the line area we saw this really cool statue of a Storm Trooper. You know the white guys from Star Wars. He looked so real that the boy was sure he was standing gaurd, and then he started walking up the line in front of us... THE BOY JUST ABOUT DIED. " DAD HE IS REAL! SEE SEE SEE HE IS REALY REAL!! I TOLD YOU SQUIRELL!!!!" :rotfl2: DW freaked out when the statue she was taking a picture of started walking away. That took DD mind off being scared and we all thought that was the best Star Tours ever.

THE REAL STORM TROOPER! I know, it looks like a statue doesn't it, but trust us it was real!

Her- After our adventure to a galaxy far far away we got to see Mater and Lightning MaQueen! I'm sure if any of you have a boy you know how cool these guys are. Well, they are pretty stinkin' cool if I do say so myself. I think Disney could do something a little bit better with this. I don't know, it just seemed like alot of confusion. Try on 50 billion little ones running up towards moving objects much much larger than they are to touch and "meet" and get a picture with this car. Along with all the parents and the rest of humanity. (o.k. so maybe I am exaggerating just a litlle but, lets just say we were in really close quarters with lots of sweaty people we were not related to nor fond of!) DH was ready to beat feet outta there the second we snapped the pic! It was getting HOT outside already and we knew it would only get worse as the day went on.

Here is our pic with the rest of humanity-

Him- Pics taken. We went and watched the Muppets. I love them fellas. It takes me back to saturday afternoons as a kid and some great times with the family. So muppet fix taken care of we headed towards the 50's primetime cafe for lunch. On the way saw Buzz and Woody signing books and taking pics. DW got in line with the kids to see woody while I stood in line for Buzz.( I know your not suppose to do this but the line was really long and we were trying to make our ADR's,sorry.) Anyway DW was almost to Woody and I saw the boy say something to her. The look on DW face told me that either she just ate a whole lemon or the boy had to go potty again. I rushed over picked him up and ran for the hills. It looked like he was about to be killed or maybe going commando again.::yes:: You see we had just asked him if he had to go and he said "No dad Im fine." (little turkey anyway) We found the restroom he made it so no problem. We hustled back to the line and made it just in time for Woody to take his break!:headache: We were first when he got back and we had time for Buzz while we were waiting.

to infinity and beyond!!!!!!!!!

Him-Primetime Cafe was pretty neat but, I had no idea what the themeing was about. I thought fifties T.V. characters would be our waiters or something like that, however I was wrong. Cousin Sue Ellen greeted us by knocking my elbow off the table and making the kids put out the silverware. Overall it was pretty fun and the food was GREAT. Not kidding maybe the best meal of the trip. The pot roast was great but I was told to finish my vegetables and cousin Sue even helped with the last bite by making the airplane sound and shoving the food into my mouth. The kids loved it.:rotfl2: They thought it was the funniest thing ever, so we will defenitly go back there next time.

Her - I had done a little research before our trip and I kinda knew what the resturaunt was going to be like. I didn't let anyone else know though. I wanted to see what their reaction would be. I'm glad I didn't because it was really fun watching them all try and figure out what in the world was going on. This was a really fun resturaunt and I would highly recomend it as long you don't mind getting embarassed. Cuz ya never know what those crazy cousins might do.
