I am new to this whole posting thing. I am beginning the process of planning a WDW vacation in October. I am hoping to snag a deal through DVC rental. How good are my chances at this time of the year?

October would be a great time to go. Best wishes snagging your deal! I would check the WDW planning forum to find threads related to your needs. Are you thinking of attending Mickey's Not so Scary Halloween Party? to Disboards!

Check out the DVC board to find people who have points to rent. I think DVC bookings can occur at 11 months (home resort) and 7 months (other resorts), so you are well within that time frame. Be flexible with dates and resorts and good luck.

Hi and welcome! Before you start the rental process be sure to take a look at the DVC Operations section and the thread:

You want to make sure you have a contract in place before you agree to rent points. This way you are protected if you need to change or cancel any reservation. I did not have a contract recently and lost a substantial deposit.

You will get some better input on the different resorts by posting your question on the DVC board or on our Disney Resorts board. That is where those with the most experience hang out.
