Learning a lesson the tough way, or Moonsand sucks mom!

Oh no...what is wrong with the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse? I just got it and the counting cruiser for our 2 youngest sons. They watch the show all the time and then of course saw the toy in the TRU big book....LOL

Everytime I see that floam I think of those little cups of Flarp that you can buy in the 1.00 store. You put your hands in the cup and it makes a nasty body noise LOL Now those...the kids play with for hours and hours and hours, good grief....put it down! LOL

maybe they have improved it since last year but the slide and the door would not stay on. I noticed tody in Kmart the slide on the box was purple ours is blue. DS4 still loves it and plays with but he gets mad that those things wont stay on.

I asked on the CB but no one really answered. ANyone know if Diego's Mobile Rescue Unit will be obtainable for Christmas.

Last year I ran around like a crazy woman for the MM clubhouse now this year the Diego MRU ugh!

lets see, toys that stink.... agree with the hotwheels sets (cars are ok) but the race sets are flimsy and never stay together or work right.
Megabloks... boy do I hate mega blocks, they never fit or stay together well. I was cursing megablok last xmas after DS6 got the POTC black pearl ship (which of course I got to put together). The stupid pieces did not fit together right and did not stay together well after I jammed them into place. (I did go into it knowing full well that mega blok sucks and that their sets are cheaply made, but "santa" got a good deal on the ship and it was something that DS really wanted but was not expecting since he knows I don't like that company. So I guess it was worth it to see the surprised look on his face xmas morning).

I saw the flying dutchman one (he had really wanted this) at walmart on clearence last month for way cheap. But I restrained myself because I'm not going through the headache this xmas morning.

Another is that imaginext stuff from last year (where everything came in pieces and had to be put together). Grandma and Grandpa got DS a lot of the pirate and castle stuff and I found it to be a pain. It was hard for DS to figure out and put together himself (heck, some of it was hard for me to put together). I've seen a lot of this stuff at yardsales so I guess it didnt go over well for other people either.

We are sticking with lego and playmobil this year

I just wanted to add that Amazing Allison is under my daughter's bed. (On purpose and all alone, because she is the bride of Chuckie!) That thing even freaks the cat out and nothing freaks my cat out!:scared1:

I've found most thngs they advertise on tv to be bought over the phone are terrible.
I bought my DD4 a Disney princess keyboard and it broke within days. There wasn't a scratch on it but it stopped working. Tried new batteries... nope. It was her birthday gift, and I was ticked!

McDonald's McFlurry Maker Ice Cream Machine. It's a huge rip-off!

It's got a picture of an enormous tasty-looking McFlurry on the box, but when the child is finally done, all they get for their hard work is about a tablespoon's worth of icky-tasting sludge in the bottom of the cup.

My son was incredibly disappointed. Our first lesson in false advertising.

Oooo, I'm glad to find this out! DS9 loves McFlurries and saw the maker in a flier or commercial or something and wanted it. I'll keep hitting the drive through! :thumbsup2

:lmao: I agree.. that is what my DDs think she is! I thought that was funny about the cat... because our cat freaked out with AMazing Allison... Which my DS16 thought was hilarious. :rotfl2:

Moon Shoes! I wonder how many kids have broken or sprained their ankles hopping around on these things. They are a piece of junk and a safety hazard!

ok another thing off the list, it is getting harder and harder to buy things.

thanks for the tips

Mine would be V-smile, the looks cool video game system. Before they caught on to the educational theme which ended that fad, they had trouble getting the controller to do what they wanted, which meant numerous controller beating.

Maybe yours was defective. My girls have had a v-smile for a few years and they use it a lot. They use the pocket one a lot too. Never had any problems. :thumbsup2

My DD5 has had a Vsmile for two years and still plays it. (Frequently actually)
Never had any problems with the controllers...and the games she seemed to like.

maybe it's the difference in boys v. girls. My boys have more problems with it than they have patience. Plus, they don't like it because it's too educational. I guess thinking is just for school.

hmmm,my crazy active boys and all their crazy active friends love the moon shoes- though some of the elastics have broken, they still bounce on them....
I never buy the junk advertised on kids channels though...my poor kids!:rotfl2: mainly because ds8 can sing every stinkin' jingle for boys and girls toys (baby Ananbelle, baby Anabelle:headache: )
