First of all, I must confess that I have lived in my Croc flip-flops for at least 2 years now. I love them and wear them everywhere (when I am not dressed for work.) DH & I spent about 5 hours at Epcot this past Thurs. We were on our way back from Vero Beach and I had lived in my Croc flip-flops while at the beach. Anyway, I thought I would keep my feet cool and wear my flops to Epcot. Bad decision! I have the biggest blister on the bottom of my right foot and almost had one come up on the left foot. Moral of the story, I have learned my lesson! No Croc flip-flops at the parks for me!

Oh, I'm so sorry. That must be awful! Do you have any mole skin?

I'm always surprised that people wear sandals to parks anyway. I could never do that! I've got to have more support for my feet than ANY sandle could give. I suppose I could wear my orthotics with some sandals, but that, to me, would be worse than black socks! :rotfl2:

I usually wear my Nikes during the day (except AK day since I'll be on Kali) and switch to my Croc flip flops at night. I have found that it helps my feet to switch shoes at some point. Also I swear by Coconut Foot Lotion from Burts Bees. You have to put in on at the end of the day with heavy cotton socks. Your feet will feel sooo relaxed!!

My DH husband did nothing but crow that his feet didn't get get any blisters this trip BECAUSE he wore his Croc flip flops!! :rotfl2: I, on the other hand, bought & bragged about the new tennis shoes I bought (Lands End) and had all kinds of feet problems, including blisters!!!

My 14yo daughter is going next month with her friend and I told her today we need to buy goog shoes for her trip. She doesn't want Crocs but said she'd like Chucks.
I'm thinking some of the waterproof Merrells would be better.
It's so hard to try to tell kids what they'd be better wearing.

Sorry for your pain...we've never tried the Crocs but have heard they are great for comfort.

I always wear either my crocs flip flops or my teva mush flops to the parks.
I have very sensitive feet and these both work great.
I find it helps to alternate pairs on different days though..i think if i wore either pair for one week straight i would develop some hot spots but changing pairs seems to help.

I just couldn't wear sneakers or tennis shoes in August ...too hot!:)

i wear teva sandals and have never had a problem in disney - when i have worn sneakers (new balance) i'll bring along an extra pair of socks and change half thru the day (just feels cooler and refreshed to put on a clean, dry pair after your feet have sweat all morning! - i've even brought along a small container of foot powder as well - my tootsies loved it!)

I bought my croc flip flops a few months before my trip to WDW in 2006. I wore then to the parks and they were WONDERFUL!!! No blisters or foot aches, other than the normal "walking all day" foot aches, and they were much more comfortable than tennis shoes to my heel spurs. I still have that same pair and wear them today, but have found when I walk a long time in them they do the same thing to my feet - begin rubbing blisters on the bottom. So I switched out with another pair of croc flipflops (in a different color) when walking long distances and found no blistering. So, i think i just wore out the older pair. I only wear them around the house now.

i used to wear sneakers most of the time in disney but this past trip, i wore flip flops from american eagle adn it was the first trip where i didnt have to ice my feet at night....im bringing 2 pairs with me for my august trip!! my sneakers never left my suitcase adn i could have used that space for souviners:goodvibes

We are going in August and I wear flip flops every chance I get so I was considering wearing them. Maybe I will reconsider.

I've only done Disney in the cooler months, so August is going to be a be change for me. I went ahead ahead and bought Merrill Maipo's for myself and my daughter. Once my mom saw them, she also bought a pair for herself. I'm a tried and true sneaker person, but the thought of getting them wet on a ride or during a rainstorm and walking in them all day just didn't seem appealing. Also, I'm "Pooh sized" so I need a more supportive shoe with some padding in the bottom. Hopefully, the Merrills will work beautifully. Of course, I plan on trying them out before Disney.

I love my Crocs, but can handle only so much of them on an extended trip. So I alternate Crocs one day with a good pair of tennis shoes the next. And my dogs are very happy as a result! :cool1:

can you wear flip flops on the rides?
I saw these new adidas memory foam ones I was thinking of buying and trying out first b4 WDW. I am a flip flop lover I could walk all day in them. I actually get more blisters from sneakers...go figure?

Sorry about the blisters...ouch. I have croc flip flops but I don't like them to much.

After our first day at MK, I had 5 quarter sized blisters on the bottom of my feet from my Mary Jane Crocs. My DD wore her caymans and didn't have 1! I switched to my tennis shoes and that gave me 3 smaller blisters on the sides of my feet. :rotfl: Needless to say walking hurt! I don't remember even boot camp giving me as many blisters as WDW did. Lesson learned, next time I'm bringing lots of shoes and rotating through!

Yes, you will see lots of people wearing flip-flops. The only ride that I know of that ask you to remove your flip-flops is Soarin.

I wear my Croc flip-flops all the time. I just couldn't do Epcot in them.:sad2:

I wear my $2.97 flip-flops from walmart. :goodvibes I've worn them out on our last trip, literally. By the end of our trip they were completely flat in certain spots. I also spray my feet with an antipersperient (sp?) this keeps them from getting hot-spots.
I tried wearing the mary-jane crocs last summer for a couple of days, and after that I swear I felt like I had a broken bone in my foot. It was awful.

Has anyone tried LL Bean's water shoes, the "Summer Sneakers?" I'm curious as to how they would do in Epcot, etc.
