Hi all,

I am starting my Christmas shopping & was looking at the Leapster hand held game system for my 5 year old (will be 6 by Dec). Just wanted to get your opinions on which is the best to get, the regular (triangle verison) or the L-Max. The regular one is $60 while the L-Max is $100. Does plugging the L-Max into the t.v. warrant another $40 or can we do without that feature & get the $60 one? What games do you suggest for a 6 year old girl who is reading 1st grade level.. Is Leapster made for this age or is she too old? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

DS5 has the regular Leapster. Most of the L-Max games only offer one or two more subgames than the regular versions. Also, the L-Max games cost $5 more than the regular version. Games that are offered only in an L-Max version will still work on a regular Leapster. Most of the time, DS uses his Leapster in bed or in the car.

DS really likes his Leapster but there don't seem to be as many games for the older crowd as for the preschool set, IMO.

Rechargeable AA batteries or the Leapster charger are a must!
