I bought a I leapster for my 5 yo's birthday last year. She and my 3 yo fought over it so much, I ended up buying him one a month later for his birthday. I made the mistake of not getting a service plan with them and one broke a few weeks ago. So now they are sharing again. Make sure you get somewhere to keep the cartridges because we've lost one and they are expensive.
I had considered buying one of the new ones that hook up with the TV to replace the broken one, but have decided not to. Since we are doing Disney in December, it will be a very cheap Christmas this year, and I'm trying to make it electronic free, but I may buy a couple of games for the gamecube to play on the drive to DW.
Anyway, we really really like the Leapster. I also super super recommend the any of the Leapfrog DVDs. They have Leapster cartridges that go with them. My kids love the movie and watch them over and over.
