We are going in May and I thought it might be fun to plan some time for my kids to play around in the Leapfrog fountains outside of the Imagination pavillion. Is this a good idea? Are there usually kids playing around in them? It sounds like a lot of fun to me. Another question, is there a bathroom nearby there to dry off my kids and change their clothes? TIA! :rotfl:

Yes to all of the above, but there are actual "SPRAYGROUNDS" in Epcot, just for that purpose.

Kids can play in the water that shoots up from the "sidewalk" in a randomly-programmed pattern.

There is a good one on the main bridge between FW and WS.

I'm not sure you can actually play "in" the leapfrog fountains outside Imagination. As shown here,
Leapfrog.jpg
they are elevated an in planters.

There are, however, as Robo indicated, a few water play areas designed for playing "in".

My kids love, love, love watching the leapfrog fountains (OK...I love them too), but you can't actually "play" in them. The water jumps from spot to spot but is elevated in some spots and amongst the garden in other spots, so you really can't touch the water. I have actually seen an older boy (maybe 10 or so) wait for the water to jump over his head from one spot to another over the sidewalk and reach his hands up high to intercept it, though.

Thanks for the insight about the Leapfrog fountains...I think maybe my DSs and I will hit the "sprayground" by Test Track after getting FP, while the rest of my crew (DH, DD, dad and stepmom) watch HISTA in Imagination. Then we can meet back up. I suppose I should bring towels and extra clothes that day?

Some how my DD4 ended up getting soaked at the leapfrog fountains. It was cold too (Feb evening) ... LOL! Her hair and jacket could have been wrung out! I think the wind just happened to blow the water onto her instead of going into the planter. She didn't care at all and thought it was very funny, apparently. So .... watch out ... you may get wet.
