So here is my question... after listening to the California show it got me thinking... Do you think in the future Disney will make overnights in the park a hard ticket event?

I am not sure what kind of crowd this would draw on either coast but with the line as deep as it was in California do you think this is something they would charge extra for? If they did would you go?

I find it hard to justify paying to go to a hard ticket event when my Annual Pass already gets me in on any other time.

Which brings up another issue. Annual Passholders haven't made much of a fuss about the hard ticket Mickey's Halloween Party, but I have a feeling that if you start adding more hard ticket events (Christmas, Leap Day, etc) and taking more Park time away from AP holders, there may be a backlash.

What about Blackouts Tom.... Not sure how those work in CA but do you think of they do this again it will be a black out day for pass holders?

I wouldn't do it as a hard ticket event. It was special because you knew it was only the one day. I would cover it for the Podcast but I think they would have to do more if it was a hard ticket event.

I doubt they would do that as it was mainly complaints from people with Ap's that killed the Pirate and Princess parties. As there was getting to be some many of them that people with Ap's couldn't spend an evening at the MK. Oh and for the record I' don't have an AP.

I enjoyed the Leap Day event immensely. I made a crazy middle of the week, 49 hour trip out of it.
Would I do it again? In a heart beat! :thumbsup2
Would I do it again as a hard ticket event? Maybe.:confused3 But with the price of the other hard ticket events, they would need to plus it up a bit.
Would I do it again if it was offered once a month? Probably not. :sad2: A big part of what made it special to me was because of its lack of frequency.

I could see them implementing something like this maybe once a year. It drew a large crowd (although not nearly as much as Disneyland) in the middle of the week during a relatively slow season. I suspect that when the bean counters have completely processed the numbers and tabulated the revenue from this event, they will try to exploit it for every penny they can. Side note: they could have made more, if there was some more merchandise. Disney has a pin for every other event and obscure holiday, why not Leap Day? The logo they designed was fab, bun only available on a tee shirt?

I am a night person, I love evening hours and an all nighter was a great thing to experience. (Can't believe they did not do a pin for it!)

BUT- I hate crowds. While the energy of the crowd was great, I was able to do much less then I normally would be able. (I had never seen a line for the TTA before!) In order for it to be worth while for me to do it often, it would have to draw a lower crowd than would be there during that day. I would do it every leap year.

Now I would LOVE it if during off season they shifted the park hours so that the park opened later, and stayed open later! That way you could enjoy the park for a little while under the lights. Of course with the added cost of electricity at night, this will never happen.

I was sent a survey after One More Disney Day (after talking to a researcher in the MK about the event) asking how long I spent in the park (all 24), what I thought about special events like this one, would I want to come again, and finally would I pay extra for access to an event like this again...I put yes on all of the questions except the last which got a big NO

I think it would be fun if they did a Mickey and Minnie's slumber party event

It won't matter if they black out AP's here, because of our tiered AP system. We have 4 levels, with premium having absolutely no black outs. Considering every Saturday in the summer and every holiday weekend is an AP Blackout (except Premium), we are pretty used to the pattern.
