I'm wondering how many people plan to be in the parks (DL or DW) on Leap Day this year. It's a Wednesday - February 29.

:wizard:

I would love to be there if I can get my wheelchair motor fixed in time.

Not me! You guys enjoy. I've already done over 24 hours at Disneyland, and this body doesn't do 24 hours any more! :goodvibes

We're not doing it. In addition to the fact that the 29th is on a Wednesday, which pretty much means you'd may as well extend this impromptu visit through the weekend, its my 3rd to the last work day - ever! Can't miss that. ;)

That's it, Jeff! Rub it in... ;)

I'll be there! Anyone heard any other details like restaurant hours or bus schedule?

As luck would have it, it's smack dab right in the middle of our vacation. We've decided to RD at 6am and break before lunch. Getting a babysitter for the kiddos and heading back in the evening. Adult time!

Not me. It's right before we move to Sarasota, so I'll either be finishing up my last bit of work or at home packing. It's a tough trade off, but I guess I'll take living in Florida over spending 24 hours at WDW. ;)

I do have some weird leap day plans though. On DH's birthday we stopped for a cocktail with friends at a local bar. "Leap Year" was playing, but with the sound off. We spent our cocktail time supplying ridiculous dialogue for said movie. In that great tradition, we will be watching "Leap Year" on leap day and mocking the heck of it. :lmao:

My mom's 60th birthday is on Leap Day AND we are going to DW! Flying in on the 28th, flying out on the 1st. Just for the open 24 hours.
Staying at GF with my mom, sister and 2 of my moms coworkers who have never been to DW. Also celebrating their 30th & 50th birthdays which are right before we get there.

So excited!

I'll be there...I'm local and have vacation days from 2011 I have to burn b4 March 15th...I originally didn't have any plans for them but thought this would be a great way to use them

I'd love to go even for just a little while (not sure about the entire 24 hours thing though), but I'll be teaching that day. :)

I am wondering if what will be open to eat at that night to make reservations. I am coming in on the 27th and leaving on the 1st.

I have been wondering the same thing also. Rides also. I think I read select attractions.

We have ADR's at CRT at 420 for dinner on 2/29. I am sure by 2am we are going to be dying for another meal.

Our flight home is at 10am, so not sure how everything is going to play out.

So excited :cool1:

to my understanding it's going to be treated like EMH after Wishes so all your big rides will be open with things like HoP, Tiki, TSI being closed...I would imagine they'd keep Cosmic Rays and few of the kiosks open like they do on party nights but not much else eating wise...also heard their would be special entertainment through out the night/morning so prob special Character greets and music

I am trying to work some magic to be there. I am not sure if it's happening just yet, but I know that I want to be there for the 24 hours.

Honestly, they had better plan to feed folks in the middle of the night. People that are sleep deprived tend to eat more because their bodies are craving energy. Add to that the fact that it's going to be cold and sunrise doesn't happen until after the 6AM park close on the 1st and you can see that a Mickey Bar is not going to cut it. They need to make sure that their guests can find some "real" food.

I have no idea what kind of operations nightmare this is going to be for the parks, but I am guessing that there is some pretty strong cussing under their breathes of the "Marketing Geniuses" that came up with this one. lol

LOL I know!

We have been planning a trip that week for several months now. I would like to do RD. Then leave after a few hours. But now I'm wondering if all the "special" stuff will be overnight and nearing closing that next morning.

I'm also wondering about transportation. I was excited we'd be at a monorail resort for this, but now I'm guessing the mono won't be running those extended hours. Humph. I'll have to look into the options.
