Leap Day Birthday PTR/TR!

We leave Sunday February 26th for a week in California.
As you will probably be able to tell, this is a newbie PTR/TR.

DAY 1

The Cast:
Mommy-3rd time to DL, went 2x with high school band in 04 and 05.
Daddy-Not sure how many times he has been... I know he told me..
K-My leap day baby! Turning 4 during her 1st DL trip!
M-My NYE baby, 2yrs old. 1st DL trip!

Itinerary:
Sunday 26-Drive, check in to resort in Escondido, relax.
Monday 27-Sea World!
Tuesday 28- Seaport Village/San Diego
Wednesday 29-Disneyland! Happy 4th Birthday K!. Staying at a good neighbor hotel!
Thursday 1-California Adventure, Ariel's Grotto Lunch
Friday 2-Sea World!
Saturday-Checkout-a day early but we need to be home for a bday party on Sunday. Drive home and stop at outlets.

Put together a little something for the girls to open the morning we drive to DL:

So a question, what are the MUST haves to get for the girls that they will cherish when they get older? I always get them something for their keepsake box when we go places.
Anything that we definitely need to add into our plans and make sure we get done?

I am going to get the photocd with voucher. I know I need to go to City Hall to get K her bday pin.. anything else?


Anyway, hope you enjoy I am going to bring my laptop because I will need to do some homework on the trip so I will probably push that to the back burner and update here .

I agree with the others. Your girls are adorable.

I don't know about MUST haves, because I think what you have is great. But, you might consider getting autograph books (or making them) where they can get the autograph and you can put their pictures in there with the person/character who signs the book. This can be characters, CMs who make their day special, or even fun guests who wish them a Happy Birthday. I'd put in a family pic, too, with notes from mom, dad, and sis. So, maybe these would really be memory books instead of autograph books that would be tailored for each girl.

Day 1:
Driving to CA.
We left our house around 930 this morning, earlier then we planned so it was good. Got gas (had 40 cents off at Safeway), got milk and coffee for me : and headed out.

We stopped once real quick at a rest stop right inside California because M said her seat was wet, I thought she peed so I took her out to check but I think she was holding her sippy weird and it got the front of her seat a little wet. Next stop was right before Palm Springs for lunch. Stopped at McDonalds because I know my girls will at least drink their apple juice and eat their apples. K ate a few nuggets and M only ate a half of one but she ate all but 2 of her apple slices, K only ate 1-2. I took their food with us in the cooler, good thing I did.

Then we headed to a mall in Temecula, The big sign said Promenade :, so IDK the name lol. I wanted to see if the Disney Store there had any Snow White dresses, no luck. BUT I found my new friend:

and also found the Guido plush that our store didn't have.

On to the resort we go, it was good I saved the girls lunches because they ate them on the way to the resort from the mall.
We are Staying at Welks Resort, it is BEAUTIFUL.
We have a large 1bdrm suite. The living room picture didn't turn out so good, will have to take a new one tomorrow:

So hubby was hungry, we decided to go to:

We got through our salads before the kids needed to take turns running to the potty the rest of dinner. I swear we will never eat in peace with them around. The food was decent, I barely ate anything, pretty full with my salad and I was really bad and got soda instead of water. I brought my food back to the resort, will eat it sometime tomorrow if I am in the mood.

Then we went to Vons to pick up some fruit, cereal, milk and a few other things. We saw this place:

If I ate pizza, we would definitely go, but I don't...lol.

DAY 2

It was COLD today. Rainy, cloudy, gloomy. But, we wanted to get a few hours in at Sea World.
Got there for rope drop and it was barren. Other then the school tours, it was really empty.

All done for today, went to Applebees to grab some lunch and headed back to the resort. Perfect timing, it started to pour (at least pour to us that are from AZ and we get drizzles...lol).

DAY 3!

Sea World today!
Got through all of the shows, even with a super tired, cranky 2yr old.

Last night the girls had FINALLY fell asleep, without hubby, in the same bed, oh it was a miracle. BUT it was like 9pm, we figured the guy to come fix the cable for the living room tv would come today, but he showed up at like 906...oy, thank goodness the girls were tired enough to not even notice.
K's lovey is Tiger the bear, she didn't have a name for 3.5 years and randomly about 6 months ago she was talking to me about Tiger..I did not understand what she was talking about for a while lol. M has her kitty, Brownie and her Monkey blanky.

So we were off at around 9am this morning to head back to Sea World, we got there for rope drop again, did most of the same things as yesterday until the shows started.

After the Penguins we got to see an Arctic Fox, Kiana. She was soooo pretty. I only got one really good pic, she was not having the crowd at all.

Turtle Reef was next, this is one of the exhibits we didn't get to yesterday that I really wanted to see, it didn't live up to what I was hoping for, we have better exhibits at the Zoo/Aquarium in AZ.

Sea Lion Show, it was cute. They did a spin off of CSI, Survivor, SNL and Dancing with the Stars.

Ate at Shipwreck Reef Cafe for lunch, overpriced park food..I got a burger which I totally shouldn't have, but the salad didn't look appetizing. I did get water though and didn't snack at all.

The Blue Horizons show was AMAZING, one of the BEST dolphin shows I have seen and I have been 3 previous times that I actually remember the show from.

The acrobats were AWESOME too. I need to upload my pics of them, for some reason my computer stopped uploading some of the pics.

Of course, Shamu, it wasn't the best show I have seen. I know this is partly because the trainers aren't allowed in the water with the whales anymore because of the trainer that passed away a few years ago (I think it has been a year or two?). I wish they showed the whales a little more.
The underwater viewing area was awesome, I have not done that before.

I have a few more pics to upload off my phone too.
It was a good, long day. Both kids fell asleep within 3 minutes of us strapping them in their carseats.

TOMORROW IS THE BIG DAY!
We leave for Disneyland bright and early. I know it is going to be crowded, if it wasn't K's birthday I wouldn't have chosen this day to go. But, I am so emotional about her turning 4. I cried when I watched her watch the dolphins today, she was in awe and loved it so much. My baby is old...
