I just thought that I would share my new diet with everyone. I have been on Nutrisystem before and while it worked very well for me, I hated the taste and the preservatives in the Nutrisystem food. I have since made my own variation of the Nutrisystem Plan that uses Lean Cuisines, which are very yummy and have no preservatives. The vegetables taste like they were just picked, NO JOKING:yay:
Breakfast - Fiber One Chocolate Granola Bar with 1 cup of skim milk 220 Calories Total
Snack - 5 Laughing Cow Cheese Squares with 1 Orange 105 Calories Total
Lunch - 200 to 250 Calorie Lean Cuisine Frozen Dinner with 1 can of Mandarine Oranges 360 Calories Total
Snack - Snickers Bar 280 Calories Total (My Reward for the day)
Supper - 300 to 350 Calorie Lean Cuisine Frozen Dinner with 1 cup of skim milk 310 Calories Total
About 1300 Calories per day and I will usually add a snack after dinner of about 200 calories, like some popcorn or something. Just curious if this type of "System" could help anybody else??? I have lost 11 pounds so far. I have not been good this past two weeks with the exercise though. My Wii Fit will surely be yelling at me when I get back on!!:scared1:

Hi-

This is an interesting idea! Portion control and a Snickers bar to boot!

I too like the Fiber 1 bars, but I use them as a snack. Target has a cheaper peanut butter version I found recently. I also have been buying the South Beach Cereal Bars as they have 10 g of protein. I use them for breakfast.

You may want to be careful about your water intake as the sodium might be high on those frozen food options.

Best of luck to you!

When working on weight loss, I always have plenty of Lean Cuisines in different varieties on hand. They are well portioned and the taste is pretty good. My lunch was always a salad or an LC. I don't care for most of the Weight Watchers frozen meals, they tend to not taste as well. Also, I have found that they calories are usually higher than in and LC.

Good luck with your new system.

I totally understand your plan, but in looking at your sample menu, I don't feel like there are enough fruits and vegetables. I only see one piece of fresh fruit, one canned fruit and NO fresh vegetables. Even if you figure that each LC contains a serving of vegetable, that is only four servings of fruit/veg, only one of which is fresh.

With the exception of the milk and orange, it seems like everything on your menu is processed in some way. That can definitely lead to eating too much sodium and too many preservatives.

I would change the breakfast to something fresh(er) like a fruit cup and yogurt or an egg and toast with fruit. And I would make sure that the after dinner snack contains either fresh fruit or vegetable. Or add an additional fresh vegetable (like a salad or carrot sticks) to lunch and/or dinner.

I didn't see much mentioned in the way of water, but be sure that you are getting plenty of liquid, beyond the milk you mentioned.

Good luck and let us know about your progress!.....................P

Yes, I do know that my meals are definately highly processed. I wish that I had the energy and pocketbook to buy all of the yummy fresh fruits and veggies that I know that I need. I have to drink plenty of water every day because I get kidney stones.:scared: So far, it is working well for me but my body insides could definately use a more fresh and nutrient-hardy diet. Sometimes this whole weight thing just drives me crazy!!!!!
