Has anyone ever used a leaf removal service? I'm trying to get an approximate idea of how much it costs. I'm sure it depends on the size of your yard and how many trees you have. I've got someone coming to give me an estimate next week, but I don't want my jaw to drop open :scared1: when they give me the price. If anyone has ever had this done, can you give the approx. price, size of lot and number of trees you have?

We used it once when DH moved out of state for a job & I was left to sell the house w/3 kids & 2 dogs. It was pretty expensive imo. They billed us $500 for maybe 3 lawn mows & 2 leaf visits. They had the big truck & vacuums so it didn't take long but I was shocked at the price. The yard was about 8000 sq ft I think.

I don't have a lot of trees - but my neighbors do. So I end up with lots of leaves in my yard.

I have a yardman who comes weekly. In the summer he mows. In the fall he takes care of the leaves.

I pay $170 a month.

:scared1:   :scared1: I have about 3/4 of an acre and my backyard has 16 BIG trees! It's not looking good for my estimate!

My yard is about 1/2 acre and my lawn guy charges about $100 to do the leaf cleanup for us.

That's sounding a little better. Do you have alot of trees? Only thing is, I don't have a lawn guy (but I'll be getting one next spring as I am in the process of getting a divorce and my "lawn guy" is not here -- which, by the way, is a GOOD thing). I'm thinking it will cost me more to get the leaves removed by just a random person though rather than someone used regularly for lawn service by the homeowner.

Last year my lawn cost $500 :scared1: for a one time leaf removal. I have 4 large trees in my backyard and 3 in my frontyard. This year DH bought a bagger attachment for our lawnmover $300 and did it himself.

Okay, so now I'm back to it not looking good for my estimate! :headache: :scared1: :scared:

I don't have a lot of trees... but the neighbors have TONS so we end up with a lot of leaves.

I'm planning to use my neighbor's leaf guy this year.....the charge is $40. per hour but there are 4 guys working at once. The blow all the leaves to the front of the yard then bag them up. Considering it takes me WEEKS to do our half acre yard (with at least 20 trees) this sounds like a bargain. Our garbage company only allows 30 bags of leaves a week.

I don't have any trees but in my backyard my neighbors one tree overhangs my back yard. I pay 80.00 for a yard cleanup for the back yard. My other neighbor has a tree and his leaves blow onto my front lawn but he comes over and blows them all back to his side and cleans them up.
My friend has a tree and it overhangs his neighbors yard and the neighbor rakes up the leaves and dumps them back over the fence onto my friends side of the fence for him to clean up!:scared1:

We have 1/4 acre with several trees and we pay about $150 for leaf removal. We use the same guy who mows our lawn ($27 every 2 weeks for that).

I have a small 60' x 120' foot lot. I don't have any trees, but the neighbor behind me has several BIG trees and I get all the leaves. My lawn service is coming next week to do a "Fall Cleanup". The cost is $150. I am also having them clean out my gutters for an additional $50.

If you have a riding lawnmower that can tow, you could buy one of these:

They are around $325 and you could use it again and again.

Of course, that doesn't help with what to do with the leaves once you've swept them.....

Update:

Our lawn guy came yesterday... it was $70 for the leaf removal and cleanup. FWIW... we have about 1/2 acre and a lot of leaves from the neighbors trees.

That's a really good price. We have a 1/4 acre lot and lots of trees. We rake the leaves to the curb and the landscape guys charge us $100 to suck them up. To have them do the raking too would be over $500.

In our town the landscaper just has to put the leaves at the curb in a pile for pickup by the town - no bags or anything. The ride on mower the lawn guy uses sucks up the leaves and then he just empties the container at the curb. He actually does it pretty fast.
