Leadership casting call

LCC postings are only open to current cast members, which is why most of the information is located on the hub.

Did you have any specific questions, or just looking for general information?

If you're planning on attending Grad School, then I would recommend looking into a Management Internship. Utilize the contacts you made during CP to network as MIs can be very competitive, but can move you quickly into a FT Manager position.

Each Line of Business operates their LCC differently - some require several rounds of interviews, some do not. However, they all want you to have experience within their specific area. So focus on the area you did your CP or consider going for a FT hourly position to gain the experience in the area you're interested. Once your back, demonstrate your interest in training... then coordinating. LCCs typically post once a year, so network 4-6 months before the posting and make sure your current Leaders will support you once you apply.

If you're not interested in coming back in an hourly capacity, you can always apply for Management through Disney Careers. It's not officially the LCC, but it gets you to the same ultimate goal.

Generally speaking, Entertainment, Park Operations (attractions, custodial, main entrance), and Resort Front Office are the most difficult areas to move up in. I have a friend who went through the Entertainment LCC process and got his first TA back in 2006. Since then, he's had several TAs in various locations, but didn't become a statused leader until very recently (I think late 2011, but possibly early this year)

I agree - Park Ops tends to select the least amount for their LCC, and then sends most through Emerging Leaders. Last year they selected only 14, I went through Emerging Leaders with 7 of them.

Entertainment has a huge LCC, but statused positions are far and in between so people can sit on that bench for a long time without ever being used.

I was very very lucky to get my status in just over a year. I spent about 3/4 of that year between 4 different TAs and also fell back to hourly for a couple months in there. There are several in my area that have been TAd for 2-3 years.

Prior to getting on the bench, I applied to LCC for THREE years and never even got an interview. I luckily got other salaried experiences through non-LCC TA opportunities.

As for Education - I have 2 bachelors and a masters, but they're pretty worthless in the world of Disney ;)
