We are going to Disney in May and are wondering if Le Cellier is worth two table service meals off the Dining Plan. We love steakhouses and understand that this is the closest Disney offers. Any suggestions.

LeCelliar just changed their menu as of March 1st so I can't tell you about the newer stuff but the filet with rissoto is to die for. We have ressies for the end of May for dinner so hopefully the quality is worth the 2 credits.

My dh and I have eaten there once, and only once. We were really excited to try it, but were quite disappointed. Our steak was REALLY fatty and not real tasty.

If you are willing to go to a resort, I would say that the Yachtsman's Steakhouse in the Yacht Club is much better for steak. It is also two TS credits but the steak is much better, and it's much easier to get a reservation. Just an idea. You could always walk there and then re-enter Epcot.

Go for lunch (if you can get in). Lunch is only one credit.

There is an official discussion thread of the new dinner menu if you want to read up on it and see photos.

Agreed...go for Lunch but be prepared to not have dinner! SO filling but SO worth it!

I was also disappointed by Le Cellier quite often...until I had dinner 3 times with the new menu. Dinner is definitely a changed experience.

On the other hand, my two meals at Yachtsman have been mediocre, and I would take the new Le Cellier over Yachtsman any day.

We used to enjoy lunch at Le Cellier. The soup was great and still is. The burger was quite possibly the best in WDW. We had lunch there last week with the new menu and were very disspointed. The soup is still a good choice, but the burger is quite possibly the worst I've ever had, not at all like the burgers I've had there in the past. My wife had the chicken crepe and was disappointed.

The new burger is a smaller patty on a different bun and "enlarged" with a bunch of spinach leaves, and a pile of fried onions. I guess it's okay if you like that sort of thing and don't mind spending $16 on it. The next table ordered the NY strip steak. It looked good, but was just average and cost about three times the going price. Folks, the atmosphere just isn't that good. Service was excellent, though.

Definatly not worth 2 credits to us... You could try Shula's steak house over at the yatch/beach club. It's wonderful but not on the dining plan. But worth every penny... We have not been to the yatchsmen so i can't speak for it. would like to add it to our next trip.

It's definitely not the best steakhouse that Disney offers. Shula's at the Dolphin is far superior, but not on the dining plan. The Yachtsman Steakhouse at the Yacht Club resort is also better. It is also a 2-credit meal on the dining plan.

I ate at Le Cellier on a recent trip and I fell in love with it. I too had the mushroom filet (minus the mushrooms) and it was honestly the best steak I've ever had. It was perfectly cooked and the taste was amazing. Some people say that it's salty but I didn't find that (or maybe I just like it that way!). My 10 year old ate the adult size new york strip and she finished it!! I wasn't blown away by the cheese soup but a lot of people love it. It's probably something that each person needs to try to see if they'd like it. But I liked it!

The following is if you're locked into the Dining Plan (otherwise Shula's is the easy asnswer) ...

For 2 TS credits, I'd say hit the Yachtsman. If you exit Epcot from the WS, it's not a far walk at all from Le Cellier to the Yacht Club. I've always felt the Yachtsman was far superior to LC. The atmosphere, pacing, and spacing of the tables is more in-line with a high end steakhouse.

HOWEVER, the new 2TS LC is getting some decent reviews. I'd still go with Yachtsmen until I see more feedback about the new LC dinner.

We've always liked Le Cellier. Avoided it for years cause we are Canadian, it felt weird to go to the "canadian" restaurant. Once we tried it, it became a regular. HOWEVER, I don't personally think it's "Signature" good. We won't be going back.

That burger was changed long before March 1.

Yes, that's what our server told us, but it was very different from the last time I had a burger there (last year?). I think some menus change every time the restaurants change executive chefs. Too often we go to some of our favorite restaurants to find our favorite menu items are either gone or changed.

For those who do not think its worth the two credits, could you please let us know what you ordered from the new menu that was not worth it?

I may be a TAD biased (I am Canadian!), but Le Cellier is the first restaurant we make ressies for every time we go. With the new chef, and new menu, they are bringing in Canadian beef, which from what I understand is unsurpassed (I'm vegetarian, so I go by my husband's reviews....and he is quite passionate about his steaks!)
Even without having the beef, they have very tasty meals, and their Canadian wine and beer list is great. (again, I may be biased). Their desserts are quite decadent (sharing a dessert is a good idea), the whole experience and atmosphere is really nice too.
We always finish off our meal with a short stroll to the "O Canada" attraction!
Go for lunch

We go to Le Cellier every year but last year we tried Yachtsman Steakhouse off of the recommendation of one my friends. OMG so good! I've never had a better steak and the bread they bring out is amazing. If possible, skip Le Cellier and go to Yachtsman! (Also 2 TS credits)

It's an overall for me. I mean the food was "good". As I said, this WAS a regular place for us. But I just don't find it has the upscale, special "feel" that say, Jiko or Yatchsman has to warrant 2 credits. THe only thing IMHO that makes it so sought after is the fact that it is small and hard to get a ressie at.

I have not been there yet since it changed to a signature, so my opinion is based on past experience and looking at the new menu. With that, I could start with the Mushroom Fillet. Not a thing different than it was two weeks ago other than it is now "Canadian Beef" at the same quality as before. The price is now $41 instead of $35.99. Below are a few more.

N.Y. Strip- same quality: $34.99 before,now $42
A new named salmon dish: $23.99 before, now $34
Steak House Caesar: $6.99 before, now $9
Cheese Soup: $6.99 before, now $9

To this casual observer and avid beef lover, this is just nothing more IMHO, than WDW doing a whole lot of nothing and expecting people to pay a whole lot of something for it. I could be wrong, but it appears many feel the same way. I have gone online and have not found it difficult at all to get an ADR, even only a few weeks out if I so chose to.

Le Cellier is good but not 2 TS good compared to Kona's grill for 1 TS as Kona's has best steak ever had in WDW. Captains Grill also 1 TS. Yachstman and Brown Derby good but 2 TS each. Grand Floridian had good steak for 1 Ts as well and have heard Royal table has good prime rib.:surfweb: can go to a late lunch at le Celleir and have steak as well and is only 1 TS
