Le Cellier

I couldn't get in LC in early Sept., but the recipe for the cheddar cheese soup (which was the main reason I wanted to go) is available from Disney and other sources. I've made it several times, and from what others here have told me the recipe is spot-on to what you get in the restaurant. While I was disappointed that I didn't get to try it at LC, I know I can make it any time I have a craving!

I called 150 days out for ours, on November 26th.

The best time I could get was 9:10. Definitely wasn't that tight last year.

Despite some of the threads recently to the contrary, we ate there a few days ago, and still find it a great meal - the maple glaze filet is still top-notch.

And it is more popular than ever - I was told about four weeks ago that there were no dinner ADRs available at all until January, and the CMs at the podium confirmed that.

I can't believe how crazy that is. This Adr thing is totally getting out of control.

You said it... You definitely have to plan WAY ahead if you want LC. It's impossible without doing so. Here's a thread I started a month ago about my experience trying to wait for a cancellation at the restaurant. I had no idea that my venting would cause seven pages of commentary!

Le Cellier: Cancel your unused ADRs, please!

Anyway it doesn't look like I am going to be eating there, at least not on this trip I will try for August trip. So should I go with Rose & Crown or Biergarten?

I too tried to get a dinner seating for family of 5 early November and told it was booked. I then asked for a lunch seating and there was one available. After checking the menu lunch vs dinner- found there isn't much difference except the size of the steaks. I booked the lunch will let you know how it is.

LC is not a particularly big restraunt on the inside, and in my opion is the best of the single table service ones.

The duck was excellent as an apetizer, and my steak was perfect.

Please help!! We are staying at the Poly in May of 2008 and need to know if we can make reservations 180 days or is it more. Thanks for your help

If you're staying onsite, you can make reservations 180 days ahead PLUS 10 days. Meaning- if your arrival date is May. 1 and you are staying until May. 10, you can make all your adr's for your trip on the 180 day mark from your first day - May, 1. So that's how people can make adr's 189 days out.

Good luck to the OP with those LeCellier ressies. I grabbed an 8 p.m. for our upcoming trip and it was all they had at 183 days out. I'm not even excited for the steak as much as I want that pretzel bread and soup

Biergarten is a German buffet. Which means a few things:

Its a buffet - some people love them, some people hate them.
Its German food - if you like German food (sausages, potatoes, red cabbage, speatzle) its good - German food actually works well from a buffet.
Seating is German style - I think the tables seat eight, and they will seat you with strangers.
There is a frequent "Oktoberfest" show.

We like Biergarten (haven't eaten here in a few years though)

I haven't eaten at Rose and Crown in longer - my husband did a few years ago and was pleasantly surprised.

Table service (no buffet)
English food - note the disclaimer on German food - English food gets made fun of even by the Germans.
About 30% of the seating is patio seating. Some of the seating - as I recall - is very "pub" like. I remember it being very crowded - but it was a long time ago.
Its very hard to book for later dinners - with the patio its the only reservation you can get that MIGHT let you see Illuminations while you dine. But its usually wide open for early dinners.

I called back in August and they were had reservations 189 days out. I couldn't get one night of our 11 night trip coming up later this month. Yeah it's pretty popular

189 days? I thought you had to wait until 180.

Sorry - typo.... 180 days out. Although you can make reservations for up to 10 nights of your stay at 180 days out.

I did not know that we coiuld do ADR's 180 + 10. That is awesome! :goodvibes Do you call on 189 and let them know you are on the DDP and then make ALL of your reservations at that time? If 189 days out is our day 1, can I still make ADR's for days 2-13? Thanks again, Kimberly:)

I had a "duh" moment and it just now clicked what was meant by that! :upsidedow It means that exactly 180 days before check-in I can make reservations (ADR's) for the next 10 days, right? They would not allow days 11-13 then, is that correct? THANKS A BUNCH! :)
