We will be in disney over the memorial day weekend, and this is the first time we've had to make PS before we even left.

We were able to book everything we wanted except for dinner at Le Cellier in Canada for Memorial Day (monday the 31st). There are only 2 of us so we thought about just showing up and trying to get in via "standby"

Do you think we'll be able to get in without PS without having to wait over an hour?

If you really want to eat there, I would continue to try for a PS, even upon your arrivial in WDW. Hopefully someone will cancel. If you dont have luck with that, you can always try to walk up, and maybe try a little before you actually want to eat in case there is a long wait. Or maybe try at a not so busy meal time.
Le Cellier does seem to be very popular. While we were waiting to be seated on Christmas Eve we saw serveral people walk up and try to get in. The standard answer was "Sorry, we are booked until January 1st". Hopefully you will have better luck than those people. I would guess the parks wont be as crowded as they were that time of year so, maybe you will. :D

Anytime I have tried to eat there w/o a PS it was either booked or at least a 45 minute wait....and this was the end of September, a slower time of year.

Keep trying for a PS. Le Cellier is not a huge restaurant, so seating is somewhat limited. It is also gaining popularity and you are going on what may be a very busy day. Keep calling and keep your fingers crossed. (BTW, it is a WONDERFUL restaurant!)

Hard to say with the holiday. The last few times I went there, they weren't taking any walkups at all. Keep trying, maybe you can get a cancellation.

I agree with the other posters that you should continue to call for a PS, right up until the day you want to eat there. If you don't have any luck, since you're going at such a busy time there's a very good chance you won't be able to get in. To increase your chances, you could try to eat at an off-time. I would have a back-up plan of where to eat dinner in case Le Cellier doesn't work out.

We at there May 9, 2004 for dinner (awesome food) When I checked in someone walked up and asked if they were excepting walk ups, and the CM informed them they very rarely did. That night was no exception. She told them no. Our PS was for 6:00, we still waited 20 minutes for a table. Worth the wait. I would continue trying for a PS.
Good Luck!!

I would keep trying for a PS, especially as you get closer to the date that you want. Many people book multiple PS for the same day and there are a lot of cancellations on a regular basis. Without a PS, you will have a very long wait. ::MickeyMo

I have only walked up, but i tend to go as soon as dinner starts or as soon as they open for lunch. I have never had to wait but I also typically go in Jan/Feb when the Epcot crowds are nil.

On our last trip (about 1 1/2 weeks ago) we tried to walk up to Le Cellier a night early and we were told no walk ups until 8:30pm. So we grabbed something quick and just returned the next night when we had a PS.

The next night we were 10 minutes early for our PS and still had to wait about 25 minutes. I must have seen at least 30 people try to walk up and get turned away.

We found this happened alot during our trip (thankfully we had PS's). But alot of the restaurants we ate at were not accepting walk ups.

I'm another one who couldn't get a walk-up PS for Le cellier. I was told they were all booked up for the evening. This was in July.

I've had the best luck with walk ups going right when they start serving the meal - the PS line should be able to give serving hours. The only exception to that is lunch - I've had great luck going after 1:30 - just know how late they take people so you don't miss the chance to enjoy the food there if you want to have it.

Try at an off time..like early lunch, right when they open at 11:30am, or early dinner, right when they open.

Thanks for all your advice! I guess we will try to make a PS somewhere else, but I'll keep my fingers crossed for one at Le Cellier.
