Le Cellier Steakhouse

We all would have sent our steaks back if it had not been that it took 40 min to get and IllumiNations was going to start. Not to mention we did not even want to talk to our waiter with his bad attitude. I go to disney 3-4 times a year and have never had bas service, we eat at all the countries and have always had a great experience. Our lesson was learned and will never go back. Also advise anyone to go somewhere else!!!!

You don't need a credit card to secure your dining at Le cellier.As for requiring one for all dining..NOT EVERYONE USES CREDIT cards ( I do but have no balances, but that is besides the point), not everyone HAS credit cards believe it or not.Not sure what the solution would be for those people.But I think The whole adr thing is a monster that self perpetuates itself.In any event I think the worst offender has been the online ressie system.I would see empty tables before when it was phone only, but nowhere NEAR what it has been like since online adrs had started.

Well, not sure what the option would be for those with no credit cards. I am sure renting a car would also pose problems for them.

I just know this whole making multiple bookings is really a bad system..allowing people to book many venues and then they have many no shows. So folks don't get what they want..and people don't show...and tables sit empty. Pretty sad.

We walked up to Rose and Crown a couple of weeks back..we were told they were not taking anymore walk-ins for the night. So we carried on walking around as far as Mexico...no go anywhere...so we walked back...on the way we walked back up to Rose and Crown and asked again. THey told us sure..15 min wait. It was 5. Why? Because copious reservations didn't show. But some of those same people that left the first time, didn't come back. That's unfortunate.

My wife and I (and sometimes other family members) have made 2-4 trips to WDW each of the last 8 years. We usually have a meal (most often dinner) at Le Cellier. We have never (yes, never) had poor service, or anything but excellent meals (usually filets). I do miss the maple barbecue filets which disappeared from the menu a few years ago, but other than that I consider Le Cellier to be one of the best dining experiences in WDW. Ignore negative reviews, and try it for yourself.

Wow, I am surprised to see so many negative posts. We are 45 minutes north of New Orleans, LA. We have nothing but fabulous restaurants around us. We ate at Le Cellier this past November. My wife and I both agreed that it was one of the best meals we have ever eaten in our life.

I found the opposite to be true. I got caught up in all the rave reviews and was expecting some kind of "WOW" moment when I ate at Le'Cellier. After eating there I was surprised by how many positive posts there were.

I should say I did have that "WOW" moment. Right after we left and sat down to watch Illuminations I kept saying to myself, "WOW" did I ever get caught up in all the hype. I'm not saying it was terrible, but IMHO, it was very average. I'm glad, actually thrilled you loved it, I wish I experienced the same thing.

I have eaten at Le Cellier since it opened, and whether it was Australian, American and or Canadian beef I couldn't say but what I will say is that we have always had a great meal there. From the filet with the mushroom risotto to the NY Strip (I substituted the cream cheese mashed, never cared for their original au gratin potatoes), we've had tender, flavorful meat. I also love the soup and often my son and I will each get a bowl of soup for dinner and split a NY strip and just add a side.

My only complaint of Le Cellier is when they get busy, you get your salad, appetizer and entre all at the same time which is a big no no for me. In the last 15 years it's happened twice but now I've resolved that issue by making ADR's after 8pm, it's much quieter and much less busy, makes for a very nice leisurely dinner! I've seen Illumination 50 times, I don't mind skipping it for a meal at Le Cellier.

I also enjoy the Yachtmens Steakhouse too, it's a different experience than Le Cerllier but equally good, just a different vibe! I don't order the more fatty cuts of meat at either restaurant because I do prefer a leaner cut of meat, thus the ribeye and cowboy cuts are out, I stick to filet mignon or NY Strip.

Like I said I honestly think it has gotten so bad because of the ability to do ressies online and nothing to stop you from making adrs all over the place.Maybe if they did a CC guarantee in order to do them online and all others have to call that would make a difference.Before they had online ressies it seemed to not be as big of an issue since everyone had to call, it was a little harder to double book ( cms seem to notice and comment on it-unless you used a different phone number) and most people didn't want to deal with waiting on the phone to book several times.I have definitely noticed a difference in restaurant volume of no shows since they went to online bookings

We had lunch there last week. I thought it was very good. My filet was definitely a step above "Outback" quality. If you have a Stoney River in your area I would equate it to that quality steak. We also enjoyed the cheddar cheese soup and pretzel bread.

Our waitress was a real sweetheart. She didn't check on us for about 10 -15 minutes after our meals were served, and I thought that was odd. Come to find out she had cut her finger pretty badly in the kitchen. The rest of the servers really stepped up to cover for her. We had a really enjoyable lunch.

LOVE Le Cellier and only since the switch to Signature have the steaks been from Canada. Prior to that--they were from Australia.

I think the food is far better than Yachtsman..we had an awful dining experience there a few weeks back.

I agree, love Le Cellier. I had a veal chop there last September(new menu item) that was out of this world. Getting it again in May..I usually get the filet mignon because that's always very good too, but seriously, the veal chop was easily in the top 5 things I've ever eaten..
