Le Cellier: Portion Size Too Small?

I want to try Le Cellier on our next trip, but I am concerned about the portion sizes. Normally (at home), DH and I and I will split an appetizer, get seperate entrees (usually don't finish them), and no dessert. So, I'm thinking that we will have plenty to eat, but I don't want the food to be nonexistent.

Thoughts??

I think the portion sizes are generous enough at Le Cellier. The steaks have their weights listed on the menu, so you could choose the dish that best fits your appetite. I had the vegetarian sampler entree and could not finish it. The appetizers are big enough to split also. If you like shrimp, try the cocktail. It has a very nice, slightly sweet, slightly spicy sauce, and a cool presentation.

The only thing that's too small for me is the cheddar cheese soup! (But I could eat 10 bowls of that, so don't mind me). I usually get the 14oz. NY Strip, and I usually leave some of it on my plate. Between that, the soup, the bread, and dessert I leave the restaurant feeling like one stuffed chipmunk!! :thumbsup2

I always have the cheddar cheese soup and the mushroom filet (sooooo rich and delicious!). I can barely finish and can honestly say i have NEVER had room for dessert at LeCellier. Believe me, I can eat!

When we went no one could finish their food and are looking forward to going back in Aug but when I look at ppls picks of their food the portions do look small but I promise they arent!

I had trouble finishing my entree because I ate too much pretzel bread and soup!

I was a little disappointed in the appetizer sizes at LeCellier and we only got three sticks of bread for four people - maybe we should have asked for more?? The entree was quite large. So, we left full.

We were able to get more bread sticks even though we were already done with our soup. Don't hesitate to ask.

As far as portions, we thought they were fine and both my DH & I like decent sized dinners. The cheddar cheese soup helped fill us up. Ha! My DH said it was the best steak he's ever had and he was comparing to many other steakhouses. Le Cellier is now a "must do" for us!

You can definitely ask for more bread! The reason why they come out in threes to start with is because there's three different breads and each one represents a region in Canada. You're meant to share a bit of each intially and then you can request more of your favorite. :thumbsup2

Maybe it is just me, but I don't want to fill up on bread, no matter how good the bread is. DH and I liked the food, but the portions were too small. I left hungry. I eat healthy and a couple bites of the different bread sticks were enough for me. I understand now why people order appetizers AND dessert because the portions are small and if you're like us, you are spending your money at one nice meal a day you want to leave satsfied. On the other hand, we both did have sandwiches, not steaks. I took half my bun off because it was too much bread. We'll try it again, but know to order more or different choices.

Thanks everyone. DH and I each picked places we wanted to eat (this was my pick) so I am a little worried he will be disappointed. He did say that if he was still hungry he would order a pizza (he LOVES WDW pizza).
