Le Cellier or somewhere else?

I’m on the fence about keeping our Le Cellier reservation. Currently have it for 3:30 on our arrival day for 6 people. So switching will be a little limited with the number of people, but I saw a few restaurants are available.

I haven’t been there in years but I loved it last time I went. Are the tables still super close together? Is there somewhere else would be a better option at Epcot? There’s an availability at the princess restaurant but I don’t know if the food will be too unique since we have some picky eaters

Le Cellier is great if you like steak and potatoes (which I do!) but the tables are close together and the meal can be pricey.

We replaced Le Cellier with Space 220 for our upcoming trip, not because I think the food will be better but because my kid really wants to go.

Garden Grill might be a good choice for your group - character meal with good food. Easy menu for picky eaters - steak, turkey, Mac and cheese, etc.

For other options, Akershus is a great character experience, and the food was decent. We consistently like Biergarten for a sit-down meal at Epcot. We’ve also enjoyed Chefs de France. Via Napoli tends to be well rated, although not my personal favorite.

However most of the time we eat quick service or food stalls at Epcot. If your group has picky eaters, you might look at the options at Sunshine Seasons in addition to the choices in World Showcae.

I like Le Cellier but yes its still dark and very cramped. Not much you can do about the cramped space because that's just the size.

I know you're looking for EPCOT but I will say that Steakhouse 71 is just as good if not better and is much larger.

You mean Akershus?
Don't let the name of things scare you. Its pretty normal food.

But also I really enjoy Garden Grill if you can get in there.

Thank you! I do remember the tables being ridiculously close together and we have two little kids and two grand parents I feel like that would not be ideal. I ended up switching us to Garden Grill. Got a 3:35 reservation so pretty close to our other time so that worked out great.

It's still one of our favorites, but nothing has changed in terms of atmosphere - it's still noisier than the other signatures and the seating layout is the same. Still one of the most consistent steaks we've gotten over the years.

Years ago this restaurant was not considered a signature experience. But people went because it was reasonable for the price. Then Disney decided to make it a signature restaurant and up the price. Unfortunately they didn't up the quality or service.

I agree. I associate the change with the increased demand when it was still a single meal credit for the dining plan. It became very difficult to book, and Disney changed it to a signature so it required two meal credits. I didn’t notice any change in the menu itself, except for the corresponding price increase after it became a signature. We prefer Flying Fish (even for steak) or Yachtman’s Steakhouse at that price point.

I had a really good meal at flying fish a few months ago. Would have booked it if they were open before 5. Needed a midday meal

There was a very short window of time, when it first went Signature, when the kitchen was more ambitious. I went during the first few weeks after the change, and ordered a very good venison dish.

I don't think that menu lasted more than a few months. I suspect the usual LC crowd was disappointed because, as we all know, Change Is Bad.

And while the dining plan made it worse, it was pretty much the first Epcot restaurant to book full for as long as I've been going. It is much more comforting than most anything else in Epcot, and if you have some folks in your party with palates that aren't very adventurous, it's one of the safe bets together with Rose & Crown and Tutto Italia.

Nothing has ever beaten the Tortiere on offer when it was still a cafeteria

There are several outstanding places to dine in EPCOT.

That being said, I have never had a bad meal at Le Cellier. And my wife considers Le Cellier to be the gold standard for Disney dining. Le Cellier might be the only restaurant that appears twice on her top 10 list of favorite meals ever.

We love Le Cellier but it is cramped seating and a little noisy plus it’s very pricey…..We did Chef deFrance last visit and was so pleasantly surprised how good it was.

Based on the split opinion on Disboards, the answers you get will only help if you find someone that thinks the same way you do, thereby providing an opinion you can trust.

The feelings about Le Cellier are about as polarized as the current state of American politics.
