Le Cellier or Rose & Crown

Need to make a decision within the next couple of days (180 coming up). Can't really decide which one, on my own, and I've never noticed the 2 compared on the boards. So, which one would you choose? Feel free to leave a comment also!

Le Cellier is the darling of the board, which often leads to disappointment, as it seems to be consistently overrated. We've had two middling experiences there in a row. People still swear by the place, so we'll give it one last chance, but we go often enough to be able to afford blowing a meal like that.

By contrast, Rose and Crown isn't trying to be anything more than what it is: a pub. It serves great pub food, has very friendly and helpful servers, and if you're very lucky, you may even get an incredible view of Illuminations.

Well I have eaten at both. I found the food good at both but the service at LeCellers is the Worst I have ever had at Disney. The Waiter and staff are rude,slow and seem to always mess up reservations. I found this to be the case last December for the Candlelight Packges. So many guest had come in with the reservations all screwed up or cancelled. Mine was cancelled but The guest service at POFQ got it streighten out as I had my receite from my credit card with me and my confirmation number. I had much better steak at Concourse Steakhouse IMHO.

We've been to both. Le Cellier is good, but nothing spectacular for us. I've really enjoyed my meals at R&C, and would pick it over Le Cellier any day.

are you thinking for lunch or dinner at these restaurants?

for lunch-R&C. Their lunch menu is similar to dinner.

dinner it depends on what you are wanting. if you want a good dinner, both places are great choices. my DW and I have eaten at both multiple times for dinner and not been disappointed. if you want to see Illuminations, R&C would be your best bet. try for a late reservation and you may be able to get an outdoor seat as well. also, it has been our experience that the servers here great fun and enjoy what they do.

if you don't care about illuminations and want to have a casual dinner, LC may be your best bet. it has been our experience that the servers here are polite, friendly and do a pretty good job. the theming for this restaurant is very dark b/c you are in a cellar !

Funny thing is if you look at the poll more say to go to LC instead of RC. But the reponses seem to go the other way.

As I said, Le Cellier is the darling of the boards. It's funny, though -- it has only been in the last few months that I've started seeing a significant number of other folks relaying their bad experiences with Le Cellier... maybe I should re-reconsider returning there in February...

My choice of LC is more based on the fact that our next trip included free dining, and LC has more foods we like. R & C was also good, but had less choices of what we like. I liked the service at R & C better. If youlike the choices at both, I'd go for the less expensive meal. Either one, I don't think you will be disappointed.

Well we just came home last night and we had lunch at Le Cellier cause I was too late to book dinner and couldn't even get a cancellation.
Lunch was Fabulous and by far our best all week!!
The cheese soup is grand. Breadsticks are nice with the different kinds that come. NIce thing is that you can have the specialty drinks on the dining plan. I had the choc. raspberry shake which was sooo good. My daughter had the strawberry daquiri....yum and husband had the mango smoothie. They were all good. The salads were good and the main course was excellent also.
Daughter had the steak which was cooked perfectly and she could slice it herself which always means its very tender. Husband had shrimp pasta and the shrimp were huge -- he ate every bite. I had the prime rib on a french roll with the dipping sauce.....sooo good but wayyyy too much to eat.
Desserts we had the whisky choc. cake which was slightly warm and sooo good. Husband had maple creme brule...he loved it.
Honestly it was by far the best meal. Our bill totalled 148.21 but then we left extra tip on top of whatever was included on the package cause the waitress was good and food was better.
Next time I will definitely book in time to get dinner but even lunch at 150pm was great as it was the only time in the week we did a ts for lunch and it worked out great.
that we went but sad to be home.

We have never been to0 thrilled with R&C, and probably won't return in the near future. Out of three people on the last trip not a single person was thrilled with their meal, and the service was terrible. We always love the food and service at Le Cellier.

We have eaten at both and I don't think you will be disappointed with either.
As others have said the servers at R & C are especially warm and friendly. I think the menu choices are more varied at Le Cellier. If I could choose only one, this would be it.

Rose and Crown was the worst meal I ever had at Disney. I couldn't even eat it. I left there very hungry. But I always see many people eating there, so maybe it is just a matter of taste. I ate at LeCeller for the first time last year on the free dining plan, and I have to say the meal and service were very good.

We had an incredibly poor experience with Le Cellier last week- poor kitchen, wait, and managerial staff. But, it seems to remain a favorite. In my review of the place, I received the, "Well good, it leaves more room for us," and the, "Yeah... we found it overpriced, underquality, understaffed, and overhyped." Take your pick.

Rose and Crown has a fairly heavy menu. My mom and I looked at it one steamy afternoon last week and thought the meal offerings were just too heavy for this time of year. In 6 months time (Novemeber/December), it would be perfect for us as we're alwasy looking for stew, etc., then!

We would be happy to eat at either of these and usually make ADR's for both every trip. WE have had good food and service at both, but would give a bit of an edge to Rose and Crown for consitent friendly service. We usually feel a bit rushed at Le Cellier.

LeCellier is our favorite restaraunt at Disney! We ate there twice on our last trip, and are eating there twice on our upcoming trip!

I think its important to consider your own dining style . . . I always make LeCellier our "special night out" restaurant. We have gone there for years and always have a great time. The food is spectacular (cheese soup mmmmmmmmm) but the service is slow - and that's how we like it. We go there to finish our day, so we want to just take our time and take it all in. We do not like to be rushed - and they certainly won't make you feel rushed.

The servers are interns from Canada, so the quality can be uneven. The new ones can be a bit forgetful - but we have found every one of them to be friendly, outgoing and interesting. They hire wonderful, charming people. You might be there to catch a special farewll celebration for interns who have completed there commitment - its a LOT of fun.

If you are looking for a leisurely dinner with great food and charming servers, LeCellier is a great choice, but if you have plans after dinner and want to get on with them, it may be to slow for you.

We have eaten at both many times over the years and have always found our meals & service to be excellent at both restaurants. We ate at R&C last December for the Candlelight Dinner Package and it was very good again. In fact I had the best steak of the trip there.
