We are going to Disney in July. I have gone back and forth many times....I just can't decide. Which one do you think would be better for our family with two small kids? Which one has better lunch food?

I can't answer your question as I have never eaten at either. But I've been going back and forth on this as well and decided to do both! My decision is based on something I rarely eat in general...the soup offerings for both! Can not wait to try the onion soup and the cheddar bacon soup, they just sound so yummy!

I am not sure if Chefs still has Remy going around to the tables at certain times but I am sure the kids would enjoy that! Also, have you checked out allears.net? They have menus listed and I am sure they must also have the children's menu there as well. Have fun choosing!

Do you have ADR's for either? If not, you might want to check to see if either of those restaurants even have available times. I'm trying to get Le Cellier for lunch in late September, but it's already booked for every single day! Availability might influence your decision... Good luck!

I have an ADR for both as of the moment, but want to free one up ASAP so that someone else can take one. I just don't know which one to keep. I have looked at the menus. I am thinking I like the menu for Le Chefs better, but I know my husband would probably like Le Cellier better. I don't think the kids would care either way. I just wondered if anyone has eaten at both and which one you preferred. I thought that might help me make my decision. :confused3

I would say Chef de france. We did L'Cellier once for lunch and were completely stuffed for the rest of the day. Personally having a big meal (steak, cheddar soup etc) in the middle of the day was not a good idea for us.

Tough choice. Both are really really good. But I would make my choice by looking at the lunch menus. Since we usually have the steak or filet, Le Cellier would be my choice since Chefs de France only offers filet at dinner.

Chefs to see Remy :lovestruc. - especially with 2 small kids. We enjoyed our lunch there last fall and the kids loved Remy!

We liked seeing Remy last time we went for dinner, but does he show for lunch too?

I had lunch at both restaurants in April, and I preferred the lunch menu at Les Chefs de France.

It's such a pleasant restaurant--especially if you get a window seat--to sit and watch the world stroll by. Remy is a plus!! As is the prix fix luncheon menu--one of the best bargains at WDW. DH would duel for one of their creme brulees.:goodvibes

My TA verified Remy's schedule for me just a few weeks ago. He starts coming around at 12:30 pm. I've made lunch ADRs for both Le Cellier and Les Chefs de France for our upcoming trip. We booked our room with the monster pin and we pay OOP for meals. I quite often just order soup and appetizer with no main course. I've got to have my cheddar cheese soup and pretzel & multi-grain bread. And I really want to see Remy! I'm still a kid at heart.

We've had lunch at both places several times so I'm no help because I like both places equally. We've been happy with almost all of our choices at both restaurants. At Les Chefs we've had the quiche lorraine, croque monsieur, short ribs, rotisserie chicken and the crepe basquaise (which was the only misstep). At Le Cellier we've had the filet with mushroom risotto (yum), salmon, prime rib sandwich, and grilled steak salad and they've all been stellar. It really is a matter of which menu your family prefers. Has your husband looked at the menus - they're available on allears.

One caveat - I wouldn't choose Les Chefs just to see Remy, although we always choose a time when we hope to see him. He's a wonderful addition, but his schedule is specific times - currently Monday through Saturday - 12:30, 1:40, 2:50 and early dinner at 5:20. However, if you are not seated when he makes his circuit and he's already visited your section of the restaurant, he won't come back. Additionally he's a very complicated one of a kind audio-animatronic figure so if he experiences any technical problem he won't appear.

Le Chefs has a fabulous Prix Fixe lunch menu and Remy is amazing if you can get a time when you'll be inside when he goes around. It takes timing, but if you can swing it he is very amusing.

We have only eaten at Chef de France and its my husband favorite place to eat lunch. My son had enjoyed his lunch there too. We are going back in December to eat here for lunch and we will try LeCellier for dinner (but I'm not sure if my son would enjoy it b/c I read its a little dark there so I might cancel.)

We've been to both places for dinner before kids, but wanted to try something new so we didn't do either for dinner this time around. So, I was hoping that I could choose between the two for lunch. It's hard. Since Remy is not currently there on Sunday's and that is when we would be there for lunch, I think we might stick to dinner. The filet mignon sounds really good and I don't eat it often at home so it looks like that might be the dish to try. Thanks for everyone's input.

We have done both many times. We prefer Le Cellier for dinner. At lunch I think our breadsticks were left over from the nite before. Chefs de France is so nice for lunch especially if you get a table near the windows. It is so pretty inside. Food is very good. I believer Remy is not there on Sundays and he is only there for lunch. We just saw him in May. He is so cute.

Remy appears
Inside Les Chefs de France.
Monday-Saturday at 12:30, 1:40, 2:50 & 5:20pm
He is NOT there on Sundays .This is NOT like a regular character meal, and he only makes one trip thru the dining room on a serving cart doing his little show.Once he goes thru the room he is DONE, he does not make his way back if you were not seated, in the bathroom etc.I caution people with small kids promising remy.He does have technical difficulties occasionally and does not come thru at all. Also if you are seated late(and we were and missed him) you may miss him entirely.

I would select Les Chefs for lunch, especially with small children. Even if Remy isn't there at the time you are, Les Chefs has the advantage of lovely big windows and a nice view. If your little ones get bored over lunch, the windows give you a really good opportunity for a game of "I spy"!

Is Remy scheduled to appear at Chefs in Epcot indefinitely?

When we saw him last year in 8/09, he was supposed to be leaving for another Disney park (Disneyland in California) on 9/5/09. Then I know his visit in Florida was extended, but I wonder to what date. We have an early dinner ADR there this August, and my nephew would love him! We thought Remy was adorable last year. :)

We liked the restaurant very much in terms of food, atmosphere and service. Our server was a delight. We're going back because we liked it so much, and Remy would be like getting whipped cream and a cherry on top. :sunny:
