We haven't eaten at either of these restaurants. It will be just DH and I, not on the dining plan. We do have some other character meal ADRs - LTT (dinner), CP (breakfast), 1900 park fare (dinner) and donald's (breakfast). Would you suggest Le Cellier or Akershus? Lunch or Dinner or breakfast for Akershus?

:thanks: :disrocks:

Le Cellier hands down!

I've eaten at both and I have eaten at Akershus many times because I have girls but we really suffered through the food just to see the princesses.

Le Cellier has wonderful food and is a nice quiet atmosphere. I'd go just for the prezel sticks!!

Well..since you have Character meals planned I'm assuming you're taking kids. And, since you have several character meals/buffets/ayce skillets, I don't think their is any choice but Le Cellier....even the adults deserve a meal catered to their tastes....and there is plenty on the kids menu to keep the kids happy. My son loved the kabob appy (got an adult appy with DDP) and barely touched his kids meal b/c he said he was full. The kids desserts are adorable too. Don't plan everything for the kids...they'll enjoy themselves just being at disney...mom and dad are on vacation too! Go for dinner...the mushroom filet mignon is to die for and if you like cheese, the cheese platter is excellent.

To tell you the truth..my non-picky husband doesn't like akershus. Dinner there was sort of a hot/cold buffet and alot of it seemed like deli food. And some of the exotic stuff was way too exotic...even for an adventurous family like us.

Le Cellier 100% absolutely - if you pick Askershus over Le Cellier, you need your head checked!!!!

Okay, Le Cellier it is! :thumbsup2

Oh, DisneyFreq we actually do not have children so it will just be the two adults at character meals. Sounds like fun! :sunny: :thumbsup2

Ok I'm going to go against the norm. I really did not l ike Le Cellier. I just ate there on sunday night. the salmon was bad. The strawberry ice cream dessert was bad. The bread was nothing out of the ordinary. Our waitress was awful. We ate the whole meal with the wrong utensils b/c she never brought any out (even after we asked). She never re-filled any of the drinks. Absolutely awful esp since the place is so expensive.

Le Cellier is an excellent steakhouse and the safe choice.
But if you really love seafood and/or Norwegian food, or think you might like to try it, Akershus is a unique opportunity. I have eaten at both in the last few months and the truth is I enjoyed them almost equally.

The princesses at Akershus are either a bonus or a distraction (your choice). Just try to forget you could have had this meal for several dollars less if they weren't there.

If you do Le Cellier, I'd go in the lunch time frame. I'm one of the few with a dissenting opinion but we went in with really high expectations and just weren't all *that* impressed. It wasn't bad, don't get me wrong. . . but after the buildup, it just didn't meet expectations. I felt like I was sitting with the table next to us. The food, while good, wasn't worth the price. We were happy with our meal, but had we paid out of pocket nearly $100 for the two of us we would have been VERY upset (being on the dining plan though it still felt like a value since we weren't *out* the money)
