What is your opinion about lunch or dinner at Le Cellier?

Is there a difference in the cuts of meat or quality of food?

I am a huge steak fan and have heard wonderful things about the steaks. I am leaning toward the mushroom filet instead of the strip steak. What is the difference between the lunch mushroom filet mignon ($26) and the dinner version ($40)?

If it is just time of day, I might have to go with when I can get an ADR.
TIA

I'm not sure I can really help since I haven't been to LC since it became signature for dinner, but I can tell you that we just ate there for lunch last month and it was as good as ever! I had the mushroom filet, and it was melt-in-your-mouth tenderness! I felt like it was a large enough steak though I don't remember the number of ounces. I left full; of course, I was on the DxDDP so I had cheddar cheese soup for an app and a dessert (even though I ate only a bite of the dessert). We will always do LC for lunch.

One year, I couldn't get a dinner ADR at LC, so I "settled" for a lunch one. I was very pleasantly surprised at how good their prime rib sandwich was! Sliced prime rib, very tender, flavorful, no fat or gristle. Excellent sandwich. Plus, lunch is much less expensive than dinner, so saved money!

I think the mushroom filet is a really good lunch choice. The dinner portion is bigger, and it might be higher quality meat, but it's not a truly noticeable difference. And this is coming from someone who liked the new Le Cellier dinner menu. I just think if you plan on getting the filet anyway, you might as well do lunch.

LC is soo not worth 2 credits for dinner. :sad2: It is however worth having lunch at. :thumbsup2 The food is pretty darn good, but not two credits good (if your on the dining plan). Oh, and there is nothing different in the cuts of meat or the sizes from lunch to dinner, just the price.

The lunch filet is 5 ounces, the dinner filet is 8 ounces. But overall, I agree. The dish isn't different enough at dinner to really be worth double the price (in credits) or $15 more.

We always eat at LC for lunch (have never done dinner and have no intentions to since it is 2 credits). DH and I love the mushroom filet with risotto and the Cheddar Cheese Soup/Pretzel bread . From what I have read in other threads, the above PP is correct that the difference between lunch and dinner is that the lunch portion (talking about the mushroom filet) is smaller than at dinner, plus at dinner you get candles and a table cloth. But like I said, that was just hearsay.

This is the one question I keep asking myself as well. I originally made a lunch ADR, however I did change it to dinner, and booked Les Chefs for lunch that day. Even though I plan on getting the filet, I just feel like having cheese soup, a steak and dessert is way too heavy for lunch. I'm on the DxDP, so the extra credit doesn't bother me that much.

I don't do the dining plan so the credit thing is not relevant. and I've done the dinner. But the best thing they have on their menu is the mussels, and they only serve those at lunch now. So if I go again I will be booking lunch. And I don't like the mussels enough to get up at 6 AM six months out to get a reservation.

We went for lunch and really enjoyed our meal however we found the risotto really salty and yet I love salty food.

I personally like it better for dinner. I love their steaks and the sauce they put on them.

I've only been for dinner. I am not a filet person (I like my steak to taste like steak rather than a very tender but flavorless sauce sponge). But, the venison was really quite good, and the heirloom tomato salad was *excellent*. I also had a glass or two of wine, and thought the bill at the end was not unreasonable for a theme park meal of that caliber.

I had buffalo at dinner, it tasted very good. But I missed the mussels.

DSis and I shared the dinner filet, it is larger, and was done perfectly! However, for the most part, going forward, our ADR's at Le Cellier are for lunch.
