Le Cellier jammed up even 180 days out?!?

When we first started going to wdw, the hardest priority seating to get was CRT. For the past three years, the hardest adr to get is LeCellier. It doesn't matter what time of year - we usually go every month or bi-monthly. You can luck out and pick up a cancellation, but that's even been rare over the last few years.

We have been a table of 5 many times, given the two-table reservation; but never been separated. They try very hard to keep you together. They want you to be happy and come back.

We think it is so difficult for reasons already mentioned: 1 credit for the dp and the most important reason - consistently great food. We have never had a poor meal in almost 50 trips.

Good for you? :confused3
I personally think it's a mis-conception that TS were hard to get during free dining. I'm saying that the reason she didn't get her ADR is probably not because of free dining (like suggested earlier in the thread.) packing up all the ADRs. Like I said, it's a mis-conception.

We are a family of 7 and Le Cellier ALWAYS books us at two tables, and we are always right next to each other- they usually just pull the two tables together.

When we booked for our party of 5 we were given the option of 8:30 or 2 tables at 5:10 we took the 5:10 they said no gaurentee of putting the tables toghther but they would try.

Party of 8 in the two table group as well, but at least it was for a reasonable time (7:10) and I figured there was a good shot that we will at least be two adjacent tables.

The atmosphere is better than the food at times. It depends on who's preparing the food on any given day. There are reports from the food being bad, to descent to spectacular. Our steak was "good", but it was no means extraordinary or above par of some of the steakhouses we've been to here in Texas.

Our ADR's went smoothly without a hitch for 2nd week in December (dinner). Next time we're doing lunch only because it's cheaper, but we're definetly doing Le Cellier again.

Anyone going when the discounts are being offered usually tend to have more difficulty in getting ADR's. It's not uncommon to not get an ADR at 180 days out as usually this is the outcome of newbies booking closer to their trip date. There are tons of other posters on here that have gone to WDW during heavy traveling seasons and have walked-in to restaurants without having one ADR. Planning is the key and getting your ADR's at the 180 day mark is the best way to go. If you can't do that, then keep calling as reservations get canceled on a daily basis.

I think it probably has more to do with the size of your party. Le Cellier is so small they probably have mostly tables for 4. I called at about 170 days out and got a ressie for 4 with no problems in the middle of dinner.

Last year I was unable to get a ressie for 2 at all. I started calling at 160 days out. I'd hold on to the 2 table reservation.

For our August trip, we booked at 180 days out and we called right at 6 am and we got to choose when and what time we dined there.

We decided on a quicky, impromtu trip for May/June and called the other day for Le Cellier at 70something days out and got a reservation for 7 pm.

It's really luck of the draw. I've read posts where people called at 6 am at 180days and couldn't get an ADR, and others who have called at 40 days and got an ADR.

We are a party of 9 for August 20th and could not get dinner reserved, only lunch. I think it's just that popular.

Take the 2 tables. We've had to do that twice and both times we were able to sit together. They will do their best to accommodate you.

From what I understand, they will not pre-book you a table larger than your party size IF there are tables in the restaurant that seat that exact number. For instance, a party of 2 might be told there are no tables left (because all the 2 seaters are gone) even though a party of 4 would have no problems getting a table for the same time. But if you are a party of 3, they will put you into a table that seats 4, because they don't have any tables that only seat 3.
So in your case a table for 5 may exist, but they might only have 1 or 2 of them? But they will not give you a table for 6 people, even though one might be available.
A few times I called restaurants looking for a table for 2 and none were available, but when we arrived at Disney and talked to a CM they put us down for a party of 3, and said to tell the restaurant that our "other guest" couldn't make it. So maybe if you call and try for a party of 6? That way you could get one big table....if they have big tables. Just an idea.

Today is my 180 day mark. I called to make my ADRs and got everything I wanted:banana: ...except Le Cellier  . They could get me 2 tables ( I only have five in my party) at a time that was within an HOUR of what I wanted, but they could not guarantee me 1 table unless I went for a 4:10 reservation! This leads me to a few questions:

Has anyone had reservations for two tables at Le Cellier and ended up getting one?

Is Le Cellier so good that we should keep the reservation for 2 tables over, say, Coral Reef where we could sit at one table?

Is this a bad indicator to how crowded it will be at WDW in general during our trip?

Not to add salt to your wound, but I called at 180 out too, and there were only 2 available seatings, not the time we wanted but I was desperate, the CM did tell me to check back for cancellations? Hope that helps you out.
