Le Cellier for lunch or Kona for dinner with kids

I have made reservations at Le Cellier for lunch (coudnt get dinner reservations) the day before we leave. We have to stop by the Poly that day too and thought maybe we could do Kona instead for dinner. So, I made that reservation too

We cant do both because of time and $$, so what would you choose? I have heard rave reviews about Le Cellier, but I have heard that Kona is better with kids (we have a 2 1/2 year old and 5 1/2 year old).

I would appreciate any feedback!

I would pick LeCellier in a heartbeat Kona is good too, but a little more formal/quiet/adult oriented IMO--don't get me wrong, kids are welcome but you will see more adult couples eating here. If you're going to be at the Poly, you might consider O'hanas --I'd still pick LeCellier, love that soup! and the pretzel bread!! and the steaks

Thanks! I tried to get into Ohana, but they were booked solid! She said I could try a walk up, but I dont think I will risk it! I think we might just stick with LC!

We have not done Kona yet, but are planning to next trip. We have done LeCellier our last 3 trips and for us it is a must do! All 3 times we have had excellent service and the food was great. If you got a ressie I definitely would keep it.

I see the two restuarants completly different than ChelleinNC. I think Kona is more of a coffee shop atmosphere and LeCellier is more upscale. Neither is so upscale that children wouldn't be in attendence (only Victoria and Alberts doesn't allow children - and its just until age 10).
As for which restaurant would be better for children, I think I'd choose Kona. Its open to the lobby at the Poly so there is more to look at and more going on. LeCellier is dark and doesn't have a lot to hold a child's attention. If your children can sit nicely and not run around the room, scream, cry, and/or invade the space of other diners then either of the restaurants will be great, but I think they would enjoy Kona more. There is an open dessert kitchen at Kona and a chocolate statue of Lilo and Stitch

We went to LC for lunch and Kona for dinner on our last trip. My kids prefered LC. It was fantastic food and they liked being able to order a steak. Kona was good but LC was outstanding.

LC cause it's so hard to get in. Kona you can usually get in.

My kids like both but LOVE Kona. They like the food (a little different but not too different), and they love the kiddie cones. And it's noisier so I don't have to keep saying shhh.
