Can I sub it with a different side? I am just not a fan of risotto.... Unless Gordon Ramsay is making it!!:goodvibes Lol any input is appreciated!! Thanks!

just read this week where another poster had LC sub potatos for the risotto. Shouldn't be a problem:goodvibes

We just ate at Le Cellier for dinner tonight. I asked to sub mac and cheese for the risotto and was told no. Also, no spinach as a sub either. They did allow me to sub the smashed potatoes or the potato wedges. I chose smashed potatoes and they were not good. (well, I did not like them)

The fillet was good, service was bad. We will not be returning anytime soon.

I'm a pretty picky eater and have had no problems at any of the Disney restaurants I've dined at subbing sides, leaving things off, etc.

We subbed cream cheese mashed potatoes for the risotto last December, no problem at all.. AND they were SO freaking good!! So were our filets and our desserts and our service. We loved our dinner there!

If you are ordering from the Fixed Price menu, then typically no.

If you are ordering from the normal menu, then they'll likely let you sub a side that's offered with another dish without problem. They do this very often.

Only very rarely (if at all, I only say "very rarely" as I know if I say never, someone will pipe up that they were allowed it :p) will they sub one of the side dishes that isn't offered with another entree.

I agree. Lesabrowning tried to sub items that are considered extra cost side dishes and they said no. Same with the mac n cheese. If you sub one side for another they usually will.

Awesome!! I will NOT be ordering off the fixed menu. Any suggestions on whats good as a side then? The potatoes sounded good???:confused3

I think the rissoto is really good tho....Maybe try it, and if you don't like it, ask for a side of the mash pot.

I've never had a problem changing the sides at any Disney restaurant as long as it wasn't for an extra cost side dish. I love the risotto at LC so I haven't don't a substitution but my daughter hates mushrooms. So she orders the mushroom filet with no mushrooms and subs the cream cheese mashed potato for the risotto. She says they are awesome. One trip they still had some barbecue sauce from lunch in the kitchen and our server brought her that - she said it was almost like the old barbecue filet that the loved! Needless to say that server got extra on her tip!

Is the risotto kinda creamy? I guess i just dont want a grit or oatmeal type side. Does that make sense?? Also i dont like mushrooms... Wonder if they can substitute them with a different veggie?? I dont want to make it a big deal though.??

I love risotto but I hate it at Le Cellier, worst I've had anywhere. I'd get the potatoes there.

I was there on Sunday and subbed mashed potatoes for the risotto. We were not on the DDP so I don't know if that makes a difference or not??

That's great :thumbsup

Looking forward to the mashed potatoes as well in November :goodvibes

They will let you sub a regular side item out but not the ones you pay extra for like the mac and cheese, mushrooms etc. The potatoes they will.

Hope it is worth the wait for you. It wasn't for us. Raining awful day, finally got seated but the restaurant was half empty. Service was slow.

Filet and Risotto were excellent however.

I love the risoto but you can get many sides. When I was there they had a loaded baked potato my friend got that and it was awesome
