Le Cellier Candlelight lunch or Dinner?

DH and I will be celebrating our 10th anniversary in Dec. and I currently hold 2 Le Cellier reservations and need to cancel one of them. Which would you choose: Le Cellier late lunch with Candlelight Processional or regular Le Cellier dinner? We are not on the Disney Dining Plan BTW.

I went through a similar thought process...at 180 days out I made lunch and dinner reservations at LC and canceled them both when I was able to secure a lunch package. Here was my thought process in making that decision. (keep in mind I have been to Disney many times but have never eaten at LC)

I'm doing the Le Cellier lunch bc I want to see the CP and the lunch package at $54 per person is actually a decent deal. If you order the filet for $27, a $10 app, $3 soda, and $8 dessert, you are spending $48 just on the meal - only a $6 up charge for guaranteed entry to the show. Granted you probably wouldn't order this much food OOP for lunch, but still, to me the package is a great way for me to try Le Cellier for the first time to get a sampling of all it offers. If it's not all it's cracked up to be, then at least I get guaranteed entrance to the show. Seeing the show is important to me, though.

If I were celebrating an anniversary I might just want to relax and enjoy a leisurely dinner rather than eat a late lunch and rush off to see the CP.

If you decide to go with the CP package lunch, then I would pay OOP bc it's a bad deal on the dining plan, as I believe most 2 credit meals are.

We'd definitely do lunch + candlelight processional. You'll get a ton of food (app, entree, dessert), so with a late lunch, I'd plan on having a snack earlier in the day and perhaps a turkey leg or something after the show (YMMV on the turkey leg!). Yes, there's an upcharge to see the CP, but we really want to see it (we're booked for a CP dining package this December, but I haven't seen it yet) and to us, the additional cost for the meal is more than offset by the park time we won't have to spend waiting longer in line (there's still some waiting with the package) for worse seats.

I appreciate the input and I agree it's worth the up charge. For some reason I'm having a really difficult time letting that dinner ressie go Besides the portion size, is there really that much difference between lunch & dinner?

The lunch package for the Candlelight Processional have reservations between 1:45 and 2:45 with a 5pm show time so you do have time for a leisurely lunch. Depending on who the narrator is (there are some like Neil Patrick Harris and John Edward Olmos who draw crowds) and the day of the week (weekends are usually more crowded than weekdays), without a package, you might not get a seat unless you are in the stand by line hours ahead - I have seen the stand by line filling in as early as 2 hours or more before the performance.

Even though lunch is technically the better deal, I would go with a later dinner reservation since this is a special event. Dinner just feels more romantic.

There are more items on the dinner menu to choose from. The dinners are much more expensive then lunch currently is if you are paying OOP. I've got several reservations booked at Le Cellier for my trip starting next week. Only one is for lunch & the rest are dinner. I need to decide if it is worth the extra money for dinner since we will be paying OOP using TIW. Most of our meals will be special events at the F & W festival and snacking at the booths but we really wanted to eat once at Le Cellier since it's been several years and they don't do F & W events there anymore.
