When our family first went to the World six years ago, I was a compulsive obsessive planner for all the details.

Now getting ready for my 6th trip, I've become complacent and have not done much planning for our trek Thanksgiving Day through the following week (Nov. 23- Dec. 2)

I have managed to purchase MVMCP tix for the Tuesday the 28th and Turkey dinner on arrival day--other than that, I'm afraid I'm a bit clueless.

My questions:
1. What do we do with the immediate post-Thanksgiving weekend (Fri. through Sun.) I imagine everything is swamped.

2. How then would you approach the following week (Mon. through Frid)

Keep in mind, family of 5--2 high schoolers and an elementary student. We've been to the world five times already but NEVER at this time of year. We've always gone in the summer.

Thanks for any help you can provide in getting my lazy planning butt in gear!

I don't know either but have a Great time!!!!!!!

I went last year the week of Thanksgiving.

You probably need patience the most, Thur-Sun of your trip. After that, the crowds taper off you and will enjoy your visit.

We went to MK the Fri after TG last year. It was tolerable in the morning, but very crowded when we left to go to the airport.

I'd hit the other places Fri Sat, maybe attempt MK on Sun. Plan on split days those first few days.

Try to do meals offpark and at resorts, maybe plan an afternoon at DownTown Disney.

Hi Fargoman2

We are planning the exact dates that you have. :cheer2: Nov 23, my bday-Dec 2.

We have never been at this time of year either, normally we go in that full week before TG and get out before the madness sets in, this year we decided to be a part of it. :teeth:

I agree with the above poster...the first 3 days of the trip are going to be hectic and crazy. Our plans are to just soak up the atmosphere where ever we end up in those 3 days. I know that on my bday I want to be in MK, so even if all I get accomplished is sitting on a bench people watching, I'm going to be happy because that's where I want to be. I know that we'll have the whole next week when the crowds thin out to enjoy the rides and attractions.I'm hoping that the holiday and decorations will put everyone there in a festive mood and that in itself will be a treat for us.

As far as the rest of your planning goes I would suggest that if you haven't made any other ADRs you try and figure those out. I was trying to switch a few things around and was unable to get the times I wanted, although they were at some of the more popular restaurants. I had no problem getting any of my ADRs for the resort restaurants.

Good Luck with your planning, remember you are there to relax and have fun, and I hope you have a wonderful vacation!!
