Layovers and DME?

I'm flying from Boston to Orlando with a layover in DC - in which we're not only switching planes but airlines too (Is this normal? It seems weird to me) I registered for the ME using the D.C. to Orlando leg of the trip and flight numbers, is that what I was supposed to do?

Hi- We had a 4 hour layover in atlanta (same airline) but when I made my arrangements I gave them the information for the 2nd half of trip (the atlanta to Orlando) and had no problems with DME. Just make sure you give them the information for the portion of your trip that arrives at Orlando.

As long as they have your information, and the bags end up in Orlando, there shouldn't be a problem.

Never changed airlines half way but last year when I gave DME the Atlanta to Orlando leg of my trip everything worked beautifully. I don't think they actually track you, they just use that information to know how many busses to have at the airport at any given time (i.e Mid day will be busier than midnight)

Yes you will just need to give them the info for the DC to Orlando part. With your DME documents you will receive a phone number in case you miss your flight or your flight is signicantly delayed. You can call and let them know.

While it's not the norm to switch airlines, it does happen (actually, I did it on my first solo trips to both WDW and also to DL). You told them the correct info.
