We are taking my family to WDW this year and will have 1 2 bdr and 4 studios at BWV. We are registered as a Grand Gathering so our rooms should be near each other. I was wondering if anyone knew the layout of the room types so I could see how close we might be. For some of us further might be better :lmao:

Here is a great graphic from Granny. You don't mention which room view(s) you have reserved but this should help you figure out the possibilities:

I have never seen a map of BWVs that shows the location of each room. It would be interesting to see where each studio is located in relation to 1 and 2BRs.

I would assume that they'll be on the same floor as you. But they could be at one end of the building while the 2 BR is at the other. BWV does have it's infamous long halls. The problem with DVC villas is that they are set up to be mainly 2 BR units some that are dedicated and some are lock offs that can be converted to a 1 BR and a separate studio. But at BWV they have dedicated 1BRs and dedicated studios that are tucked in all over the place.

I think I saw somwhere that all 2BRs at BWV are lock offs, so you could be anywhere.

Which view did you book?

They are all garden/pool view rooms. I'm not interested in which area we will be in but more how closely the rooms could be to one another.

TIA

I'd guess not terribly. There are relatively few cases where pool/garden views are across the hall from one another (those wings where the red lines in the picture are parallel), that would be your best case. More likely, you'd be strung down a hallway with one bedrooms between at least some of the studios. Its also possible - given BWV room allocation history, that "close to each other" will put you on different floors a stairway away from each other, but in the same region of the building. Also, given BWV room allocation history - and depending on how full the resort is the night before and how many rooms are vacated that day, you won't end up close to each other at all - though they do seem to try harder for Grand Gatherings.

I have not seen a map of specific rooms online but can tell you from experience that there are all types of rooms in all the different areas (except Grand Villas, which are all boardwalk view), a map would show rooms very close together. What you actually get depends on what is open on the day you check-in, which can't be predicted.
