Hi! I really love browsing the scrap board since I just started scrapping about two months ago. I've done about 15 pages of our last Disney trip and am trying to do a layout for DH's driving experience he did for his birthday last year. I couldn't find any black/white checkerboard paper so I'm using the Mickey paper that's black background with rows of white Mickey hands, Mickey heads and "M"s, with the pictures mounted on white cardstock. It's looking a little boring and busy all at the same time. Anyone have any good ideas?
Thanks!

Thank you! That is a good site. I knew I had seen checkerboard paper somewhere, but figured it was at the scrapbook warehouse in Pigeon Forge.

My DH, yes, my husband, did a scrapbook of him and his Dad and their years of racing. The only thing I was allowed to do was a) donate the CM black album, and b) journal the album, however he told me exactly what to write. It is truely his album.

That being said, what he did on a two page layout was take 1 1/2" x 1 1/2" black squares and made a checkered flag effect on the side borders. It looked great. A various race tracks there are die cuts that are sold. Wish I had known you needed some stuff, he is at a Nascar race today, he could have been on the look out for you.

Lisa, thanks for the offer! :goodvibes Would you believe that we only live 20 min. from the Bristol track? That's great about your dh doing his own album; I'll bet it's very special. I couldn't stand to wait so I went ahead and used my black little Mickey icon paper and it didn't look too bad. I used a couple of the CM quick cut triangles in the corners to cover a little of the busy-ness and it looked better. It gave me something to journal on, too. If I could figure out how to post pictures, I would put up a pic of it.

I just asked dh if he would see if the store is open during the week at the Bristol track to check for some flag stickers--he's a good sport, he just rolled his eyes and agreed to! :rotfl:
