In honor of the 20th consecutive day of 100+ temps here in Oklahoma, I've decided to have a "Fun in the Sun" challenge. You can use "fun in the sun" in your title or journaling, or you can just showcase summer fun pictures. The winner will be chosen on Aug 9. I can't wait to see your layouts! Here's a couple of examples to get you started.

20th day in the 100's, ugh. I'd melt.

Wonderful layouts! The kids sure look like they had fun.

I have lots of summer pictures so this challenge will be helpful.

I have some summer photos... I have one neat one I really want to do from several years ago.... might work in this LO...

Sorry about the nasty 100 degree days.... I'm over this heat and I am one who loves the heat and summer sun... so if I'm complaining you know it's bad!

Wow.... I'd love to be warm at the moment... It's so cold here... I'm sitting here in my ugg boots and trackies with the heater on...

Will have to go hunting for summer photos so that I can do this layout.. I didn't post the layout of the previous challenge as all the photos were of my nieces when we went on holidays together... Only another 454 days to go (but who is counting  ) before we go to DL and WDW.

I'm thoroughly convinced that karma has bit us in the butt for all the times we complained about the snow!!!

We're up to 25 days now with no end in sight.:sad1:

I love summer, too, but this is too much of a good thing.

I'll bottle up some of this heat and send it your way.

Aren't you lucky!! DL and WDW in the same trip!
Subbing...hopefully I can actually get a page done this time! :rolleyes1

I'd love to see what you come up with. I get so much inspiration from everyone's layouts.

Love your layouts!

Thanks!

Sheila, I don't know how you handle that type of heat. Last Friday when I got out of work the temp on my car thermometer read 107. :scared1:

The whole idea of me doing these challenges is to get out of my comfort zone and do up different style layouts. In honor of the hot temps, I picked out really cool yellow, white, and orange paper representing heat. When I pulled out summer pictures for the layout, the pictures are of when DH, DD, and our weekend helper went sailing. Being from New England, when I think of sailing I think of more nautical colors, blue, white. But I decided to stick to with my original papers with those pictures, definitely out of my comfort zone.

I did my layout today, actually it turned out to be two page layout. Definitely a little different for me but I liked how it turned out. My Fun in the Sun title was from one of my cricut cartridges. I never would have put an geeko with a nautical layout but again, I went outside of the norm of what I normally would do.

Thanks for listening to me babble. And thanks, Nancy, in advance to posting my photos. My next step is to conquer posting pics.

Lisa, I can't wait to see your los. Using those colors to represent the heat is a great idea.

Whew, 107 in New England. I bet you guys don't see that often? We get this kind of heat every year, but it is normally for a few days to as long as a couple of weeks, and then we "cool" off into the mid to upper 90s. This summer we are breaking all the records. It was 108 on my covered back porch at 1:00 on Sunday.:scared1: We are pretty much staying inside, blasting the a/c, and consuming large amounts of cold drinks. I try to get all my cleaning and laundry finished before 11. It's just too hot for the a/c to keep up after that.

Bad flash in the middle of my dd's face, no natural light to help with photography tonight :goodvibes

We just got back on Sunday from a family reunion in Quartz Mountain area in OK. It was 110 at one point-OMG!!!

Quartz Mountain is a couple of hours west of us, and they are usually a few degrees hotter. I hope you had fun despite the heat. Its been a long time since I've been to Quartz Mt.

It was nice to see family and visit. The area looked neat too, but we didn't spend much time outside unless we were at the pool (we are wimps-LOL) If it would have been cooler, it looked like a great place to walk trails and explore. I told my DH the next time I am in a vehicle for 12 hours though, there better be a beach house or a mouse waiting for my arrival :lmao:

Thanks for the layout love :lovestruc

I will post Lisa's LO this weekend.. It is great!!!
I'm finishing mine up this weekend and will post too.. Got side tracked working on the 2008 Disney trip...
