No, you don't have to wear one. Many people do to carry their KTTW card. But there are plenty of others who just use pockets or little bag to carry whatever they need at hand.

If you are first time cruiser with DCL you do not get a lanyard at check in. All subsequent cruises on DCL you do. You certainly do not have to wear them. They are a small token of DCL's appreciation that you have returned to cruise with them. They are broken down by color. Each color pertains to your Castaway Club Level. Silver lanyards 2nd through 5th cruise. Gold lanyards 6th through 10th cruise and Black (Platinum) lanyards 11th and above cruise.

Some people bring their own to carry their Key to the World Card or some just put their card in their pocket. Your preference. They sell DCL related ones in the shops if you want a different lanyard.

There is no requirement to wear or use a lanyard. They are distributed as previously described. They also give lanyards to DVC members as well, but you get those on the ship. The Castaway Club lanyards are given out at check-in.

I've seen people carry their KTTW card in a neck lanyard pouch, from a clip or ring on a wrist lanyard (GS will punch a hole in it for you), in their pocket, in a purse, in an armband pouch that runners wear, and more than one woman carried it someplace inside their top (didn't ask where). One man carried his in his shoe!

I like a lanyard, but the rest of the family prefers using a pocket and only use a lanyard when they don't have a pocket or someplace else to carry the card.

Other than the Wrist Band the Boy's will wear for " Kid's Club" -- Do they get a Card and also Do they need to wear it - if so -- What Purpose for the kid's ?

Each passenger will receive a card -- it serves as identification as well as your room key and charging. At 7 and 9 yrs old, unless you grant the kids charging privileges or will allow them unsupervised movement around the ship, there is no need for the boys to carry their own cards. If the older boy will have self-check-out privilege from the Club/Lab, he'll probably need to carry his own card to return to your stateroom. Their cards will be required to leave/return to the ship for shore excursions, but a parent can carry it if you prefer.

Enjoy your cruise!
