Hi
I have just bought a brick to be laid in DL with my family's name on it.
I have sent 2 emails asking what date it is going to be laid, but I have had no response from DL.
Can anyone please help me with a date? I read somewhere it was in February, but not sure of the date.
Thanks

Before I ordered our brick I had emailed about dates of placement (to make sure that it would be in in time for us to see it). They sent me an email letting me know when the next brick installation date was taking place & what date I had to order ours by in order to get it in at that time.
Then when our paperwork arrived it stated that our brick would be installed in August 2010 :woohoo: barring any unforeseen delays (which was the month our email correspondence stated).
When did you order yours? I ordered ours in March & it was to be placed in August.
Have you tried calling to ask? Sorry I am probably not much help!

How do you get one? :confused3 How much are they?

I wouldn't get too caught up in where or when bricks will be layed. The Esplanade between the parks is going to change a lot as the DCA entrance is moved farther north toward DL.

So any idea what they'll do with the bricks that will be in the way of construction....move them to another location or bury them in the new entrance?

This has happened at WDW where they also have bricks for sale. They will move them if any need to be moved. I'm not sure on the number but you purchase them and they are supposed to be there for a certain amount of time for you to view.

Ohhh...so it's only a certain amount of time...not a forever thing? Shoot I was thinking how cool it would be for the grandkids to someday see it....of course first my teenagers have to grow up and have a family of their own before I can play grandma and take them to see the brick, lol. So, probably not gonna last that long eh?

This is the email address that I originally emailed to get the info & they attached a form that I filled out & faxed back
DL.Bricks@disney.com

They were really quick to respond originally, that is why I am amazed that they havent returned my emails this time. I would prefer to to be told they have no date than no repsonse at all.

My Son is going to DL in February & if it was laid he could take a photo, that is my reason for asking.

I ordered & paid for it on 1st October 2010 & I have a brick location.

My understanding of the bricks is that they will be "somewhere" for 10 years. If for any reason they have to move them & they wont be on display then you get a refund. Please correct me if this is wrong.

Thanks

Email the address I gave above.
Mine was $150.00,and you can only have so many characters on it.

The reason I havent called is because I am in Sydney Australia, and the calls can be pricey, so that is my last resort!

Each brick may contain 3 lines of script with up to 16 characters per line. Spaces and punctuation are counted as characters. All names must be separated by a space, comma or hyphen. Inscriptions are automatically centered.

Brick inscriptions may include proper person or family names, a single date and a place (such as Anaheim, CA). No other information, including, but not limited to, slogans, titles, memorials, messages, copyright information, company or group names may be included on the brick.

A brick sponsorship is $150 and for an additional $35 you can purchase a 4-inch acrylic or wooden replica of your brick. Please note that although a brick sponsorship will not be taxed, a replica order will be taxed (8.75% tax) if it is being shipped to California or Florida.

Please allow approximately three weeks after your order has been received by our office for the confirmation mailer to be sent via the United States Postal Service. The mailer will include your sales receipt, a Certificate of Authenticity and a map of the walkway. The map will highlight the section of the walkway in which your brick will be installed.

If you choose to order a replica of your sponsored brick, the replica order will ship approximately 10 weeks after you have received the confirmation mailer, barring any unforeseen delays.

Brick sponsorship orders are scheduled to be installed during February 2011, barring unforeseen delays. We encourage you to call our office during or after that time for updates on the latest bricks installed, especially if you are planning on visiting Disneyland Resort to view it.If you should have any questions regarding a brick sponsorship or would like to place an order over the phone, please feel free to contact the Magical Memories office at (800) 760-3566. International Guests may call (714) 781-7557. Cast Members are available to assist you Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm Pacific Standard Time.

Not yet!! I ordered it in March, we went for a visit in April but it wasn't scheduled to be placed until August. We will be there in the beginning of December & I can not wait to see it. I am sure that I will cry too! :rotfl:

Ahhhh......I see now I think....you know that it is scheduled to be placed in Feb 2011 but you want to know if it will be in by the time your son is there. They didn't give us an exact date either. Only the month like they gave you. But I didn't ask. Maybe they don't know until closer to the date? But I totally agree, they should reply to your emails either way.
I also understand why you don't want to call if you don't have to. Sorry! I didn't realize that you were in Australia. Hopefully they answer your email soon!!!

Thanks Sally Fan for your reply, it is very much appreciated.
Hope you get to see yours when you go!!!:thumbsup2

That's not too bad, all these years I've been thinking it's probably at least a thousand dollars because you get to have your brick there for life.....:lmao: silly me, lacking info, just like always.......
